Well guys, the day finally came!! My wife delivered our baby boy a few days ago!! He is awesome and I write this from the hospital lounge right before we are about to take him home!!

I was on a business trip in Colorado Springs last week when my wife called and woke me up at 4 am to tell me her water just broke. The baby was a month early so we obviously didn't expect it. I went from asleep to the cab in about 15 mins!! I was on the phone with United (had their number plugged into my phone just in case) and ended up taking a cab from Colorado Springs to Denver because my C Springs flight wouldn't get out until 9:30am. Anyway, $250 and an hour and a half later I was on the flight out of Denver and on my way home....

Got there at 10 am and the baby was delivered at 10:30pm. So I made it with plenty of time to spare.

Mom and baby are doing well though. Little Billy had to stay in the hospital for a few days for monitoring but he looks like he is good to go. Came out at 20 inches and 6lbs 6 oz. Not bad for a month early. Compared to other babies in the NICU that were born at his gestation or later, he dwarfs them. So that's good!! Doctor wants him drinking at least 40ccs of milk per feeding this week and he has been doing around 60 for the past few days. Just got done with 70ccs a few minutes ago. He is going to be big!!

A little nervous and a little tired. My wife and I haven't left the hospital since he was born (Tues) and haven't missed a feeding. Slept in the hospital's parent room when it was open and in the car when it wasn't. The first 3 days, mom was recuperating and I only got 7 total hours of sleep. Not good. Pretty exhausted and looking forward to sleeping in our bed. Bringing our baby home will a great feeling....

I really feel for some of the parents in here. We really got lucky with him being so big and developed for his age. The parents typically talk in the parent room and we have heard some tragic stories in the past few days. Really made our "extra 3 days" here seem insignificant. The doctors and nurses here in the NICU at Good Samaritan are saints (and miracle workers). We leave here with a healthy little guy and are counting our blessings.

One side note, he has some strong legs which means he should have no problem operating the clutch of a mid-engined sports car in the next year or so!!

Maybe Ferrari should consider building a car that the baby and seat would actually work in before they build the seat!!

    Nahhhhhhh.....forget that!!

I think I remember seeing a Schedoni kidseat for the 456 or 612 - could've just been a 1-off, though. Anyway, congrats again!

Congratulations! lots of FUN ahead :D

Now you need a 2+2, I've got both boys in car seats in the mondial. just before my second one was born I spent the day at goores test fitting every seat they had. ended up with a recaro booster and a britax convertable, both fit in the back of the mondi. loved the response of people seeing a family of 4 get out of a Ferrari :D
