Knock, knock!!! Hello Fchatters. I'm not a Dino owner -I owns a 308 QV- so I'm not familiar with this section of Fchat -I post on the 308/328 section-. But I have something that maybe you will like it, if you allow me to do it... I've created a new Dino keychain, a little piece of art. Designed by computer, printed in metal on a 3D printer. If you like it, I've placed an ad on FerrariAds. Many thanks for your time. Best Ferraristi Regards See my ad in the FerrariAds section here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-parts-collectibles/428637-dino-keychain-art-logo.html Image Unavailable, Please Login
Antonio - I just looked at your listing in the ads section - http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-parts-collectibles/428637-dino-keychain-art-logo.html where you have additional photos and a separate link with detailed specifics about the variety of metals and finishes you can make it in, and the dimensions. Very cool. I also spotted something else that was amusing on your secondary link - a Geiger Counter key fob! Very interesting what people are able to do now with 3-D printing with all types of materials and objects both big and small. Mark
Hi Mark. The dimensions are (in) 0.682w x 2.629d x 0.17h, (cm) 1.732 w x 6.678 d x 0.432 h Not too big because is intended to enter into your pocket -is a keychain-. But if you're thinking about other functions, like hanging in a wall, I can do it bigger with no problem. I can change the dimensions for you if you want it. It's the interesting thing: I can design a personalized part only for you -dimensions, material, etc-. Cheers
Love what you're doing! An extra large version with that kind of depth for the wall painted gloss or matte silver, white or yellow would be fantastic! Even in a frosted plastic! Freeman
Nice! I will test the possible maximum size and the available materials and I will let you know. Best
Well, in fact I don't have access to the printers and subprocesses, because I send my 3D designs to a printer service on the Internet. After printing they send to you the part. The whole printing process -and secondary treatments- takes several hours. It varies from the material used. The most common is the laser sintering, in which a laser beam creates the parts layer by layer, melting the metal or plastic dust in a solid part -plastic or metal-. Imagine this keychain cut in slices of 20 microns or less, and after that welded together. It's the Selective Laser Sintering, for plastics, or SLS. For metals is named Direct Metal Laser Sintering, DMLS. The last one is actually the most advanced and accurate process for creating metal parts. It's very amazing. Many thanks for your interest! My 2 cents
Just for fun, as you asked me, check this interesting video of a laser sintering printing process, using bronze powder. This project took 22 hours... Enjoy! http://youtu.be/0xGOFACsFh0
Hello again Freeman. I'se made a hanging wall Dino logo, in white plastic non polished, very big, -(in) 6.02w x 22.843d x 1.502h (cm) 15.292w x 58.022d x 3.816h- and the web page printing service shows that the cost it's extremely expensive... More than 600 eur plus shipping cost! I think that's too expensive. It's up on you... Many thanks for your interest!
amazing... how strong are the parts? a key chain for example, just for show or strong enough to carry around?
Hi Luigi. The keychains are strong enough to carry around. I've several of them with keys, and no problems at all. They're really strong. Best Regards
