A lovely car there. Do Audis depreciate as bad as they did in the past? Seems the depreciation curve was only beat by Saabs.
Surprisingly, the car is not nose heavy at all. It is actually quite well balanced and can be driven with ease at very high speeds. The handling is quite good and the AWD really holds in tight. I am no longer with Audi so this is not an advertising plug for the car. I think you might need to go drive one quickly to see what I mean. Or ask Writerguy about his long-term test of one of them. They are much better than they look...............
I'd have to agree, my neighbor just bought one and he was kind enough (or foolish enough) to hand me the keys. The car feels alot smaller than it is and the handling is pretty good, though I'd change the tires. Nice shifter, could be abit closer shift pattern, but overall I thought is was a great all season sport sedan.
I agree! A friend recently purchased a new S4 Ultrasport. WOW. I was blown away. Tight, aggressive and not too loud in appearance. Great interior and handling. Well worth the look. More sportcar than sedan in feel.
Seems like this new S4 will lose a lot of interested buyers simply because it isn't twin turbo anymore. I think it had a strong following because they were somewhat mod-able to decent levels for a sedan. -DC
Nice, Didnt a new S4 just come out for 2004 didnt think they where going to change them this quick, Looks great I love audi interiors. The old S4 the Bi-turbo V6 was a blast to drive im sure this is x10 better.
i wouldnt really agree. id say if they did loose customers, its because of the new styling and not the performance. the new styling just doesnt do it for me. the 4.2 liter is a beuty though. its equal to if not better than an m3, performance wise. just so you know, i drive an Audi 1.8T. its a perfect car. mine is the one that looks like the bi turbo S4.
I am sorry but the S4 does not come with an Ultrasport option. The Ultrasport can be gotten on either the 1.8t or the 3.0 V6 and it includes the body kit to make it look like an S4. Your friend may have gotten the 3.0 Ultrasport which performs quite well and looks great with the new body cladding of the S4. If you will read the road test that was done in Car and Driver and Road and Track both, the S4 was picked over the M3 in both cases and in one of them it was quoted that "this is your opportunity to catch a rising star". The cost of the new S4 is somewhat prohibitive to many but you get a lot of car for the money and a lot of performance. Though not as many over the counter mods are available for the V8 S4 yet, they will come. The bi-turbo was a great performing car and can be modified to do everything extremely well but over time the new S4 will show why the change was made. But then, this is just my opinion..................:>)
