It's not that I'm disappointed with the chassis; just with the styling direction. Yikes So far, it feels like sports car design language interpreted from the Pontiac Aztek... Still, I'll hold "final judgement" until the whole car is revealed...
I dont know, I am betting its going to look just plain awesome....You really think this guy is going to make an ugly car?
I'm sure it it. But is it the face GM wants to be putting out at Auto shows these days? According to the NYT the crowds in NYC were a bit angry and abusive at the show this week (even for New Yorkers).
I did some design analysis and came up with the same conclusion for a hot rod project I want to work on. Much better than Maserati, Aston or Ferrari designs best chassis out there period. The front suspension design is great and really hard to beat. The rear I had some issues with but it works.
No that's a previous Bertone Show car. David GM has nothing to do with this. This is a Bertone Project and will be on the Bertone stand at Shanghai. Best
Wouldn't be the first time somebody who had great designs in the past didn't have one here and there. What we've seen so far looks far from pretty. The wheel arches are very 1980's Bertone; which isn't altogether bad. The front seems to be trying to hard. The number of intersecting planes isn't soft on the eyes like the Reventon is. If I was given a Corvette chassis to play with, Cadillac headlights, and an Aztek body... I think you'd be hard pressed to find something great. There is no doubt that Jason is extremely talented. I just don't think this one should've left the drawing board. (Based on what we've seen so far)
I am VERY excited. Since Enzo hit the road the supercar mania has really started off with a bang. Carrera GT, Zonda's, 650 hp Lambo's, Aston Martin One-77 (I am in love with it, I recommend to read the backstage story about it in the latest "Evo" mag.), Ascari's, Koenigseggs, Veyrons in different editions etc... This is getting ridicilous. And so damn exciting!!
Understood. Historically the degree of cooperation between coach builder and manufacturer has varied. In a different time the company might be looking for a closer relationship. I do imagine that there are a number of Corvette engineers who are quite pleased none the less.

Oh I completely see where you are coming from, it looks odd in the pictures but thats because we can only see one part of the car. I am sure the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. But from my point of view I really cant see this thing being a flop. Just cant. Probability speaking the chances of this being a success are far greater than it being a failure. There is no way that this company is going to go though the expense of hiring this guy (who wont be cheap), go though the process of design and development, and then decide to make something ugly. The whole point is to put Bertone back on the map. This design is going to look so very different. It will scream. A lot is riding on this. I am excited.
Don't you see... it doesn't matter if the design is a flop or not, as we are talking about Bertone again... and the car is ultimately funded by a private individual; and only has to satisfy him alone
That may be true, but if it were only that this project would be under wraps just like Jims car. They are trying to rejuvinate the company... I am sure at the very least they will do a better job than Kwame did with Detroit.
The ZR1 is fine... I was just anticipating a mid engine V12 ..... I assumed the car would be Lambo based. Anxious for the full pics
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that it is not funded by a private individual. Also, Just released in the past hour. I for one love it! Very extreme yet refined. Love the slope of the car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
