Marc Gene is testing the tyres this week at Jerez. Badoer might well be testing at Fiorano. They're suppossed to be in time for Brazil. Will it make any difference? We will find out in Brazil. I would love to see MS up there with McLaren and Renault for the last 3 races.
I'm quoting someone.... "Di Montezemolo branded the family of tyres that are going to be used for the last three races as super." If Di Montezemolo said it, it must be true. I hope we are going to see a surprise in Brazil. Wet race would be great. 2003 Brazil GP had lots of action. I don't know how many drivers went sliding into the wall. FA had a terrible accident, GF won.
Indeed. Today Gene covered 99 laps, posting a best time of 1:18.861. 0.114 s over yesterday. Lap record 2005 cars at Jerez: P. de la Rosa, McLaren-Mercedes MP4-20, 1:15.650 (29.04.05) It's hopeless..
It's beyond hopeless. Get this - on March 9th 2005 Marc Gene posted a 1:17.05 in the F2005.............................. How the hell does a car get SLOWER 6 months later.............. KS
Yes because Di Montezemolo has won soooooooooo many drivers championships himself and is in the position to know. Like he would really say it if the tires were shyte.
Calm down. We all know Luca doesn't know much. Hearing those powerful words coming out from the president's mouth, I thought this was it finally. Gene laptimes aren't looking good but I'm still looking forward to Brazil.
I'm calm, just amused that Luca is that delusional. Hey wait a minute, i think i have discovered his true identity...............Imperial83!!!!!!!! That would explain a whole lot.................
The weather and track conditions might not have been as favourable as in March, which could explain the slower lap times. Still, they're way off the pace of the McLaren...not that I really needed to say that.
Maybe, and this is a really far stretch, they had the V8 in the back of the thing. Although, I know this is probably only hopeful thinking...lol. Mark
Stretching it a bit further, I suspect Ferrari is using the V8 in races too, just look at the results! (or should I put this in the sandbagging thread?)
B'stone are so far behind that no amount of interim development is going to help them. It's gonna take a massive off season testing program to come close.
Is it just me, or would anyone else like to see what times Schumie could do with Michelins? I'm betting they would be way better. I hope Ferrari isn't hard headed about it next year. If the Bridgestones don't perform after 3 races, pitch them.
Today Gene did best a 1:19:555 best in 88 laps. These times this week aren't very encouraging. These new tires are more crap than super.
Its just testing. Doesn't mean crap. You got to take weather and track conditions in to consideration. In addition they are testing alone, so there is not as much rubber.
