New car for my father....??

Gransport, fast, usuable, likely to be more reliable than the Jag, Gransport has wide range of abilities, can seat 4, handles very well and sounds superb, a very usuable everyday car thats packed with character, a car that can cruise when you want and can attack a twisty road when you want to...Jag IMHO doesnt have such a wide range of abilities..

 

The Gransport is the handsdown winner.
The Jag is too "mass-produced" to be exciting. I have driven the new XK and it does drive well, but has absolutely no passion. Bolting on a supercharger will not bolt on passion, just make a passionless car faster.
The DB9 is ~$170K out the door, whereas a loaded '06 Gransport will set you back ~$100K. Tell him to buy the Gransport, it is a fantastic machine, and with the difference buy you a Z06....any more questions?

 

do they still have a new 05 GS at the dealership?? or the 900km one at north shore jag?

at FMoV they have a demo 06 anniversary blue GS LE. that one is great looking and drives well. the MCV should be in anytime.

if he has an E-type, the new jags will be more disappointment than anything.

DB9's are nice but they are in a totally different league. does he want a V12 or V8?

 

haha...I remember the quote someone told me on here, DB9's are just last seasons prada shoes.

Ide go with the GranSport, usuable, perfect daily driver, new XK is nice, but i would choose the GranSport over it any day. The DB9 is nice also, but i would choose the V8 Vantage.

I'ld go with the GS. but I understand and appreciate the Jag. The Jag will also be much more fuel efficient, if the car is going to be subjected to any significant mileage that may be a consideration.
