    Wouldn’t the selling new car dealership or DMV be able to give you an exact amount ?

    California DMV has a tool for estimating registration fees I believe. Just go to the website…

    I believe it is approximately 3% of the purchase price. I am NOT positive about that, however.

    Roughly 1% of the selling price, plus some misc fees. There is also a 9-10% sales tax if the transaction was done with an owner and not a dealer.
