    Walter,
GM's problem really wasn't product related, it was cost related. Line workers making 80k a year plus benefits, jobs bank of laid off workers making 90% of their working salary, and that was nothing compared to their legacy cost for retired workers. It was the UAW that took down both GM and Chrysler.

    Joe,
the technical very antiquated cars from GM like Hummer etc. have no chance anymore on the market with the current limit on ecological recources and the increasing price for fuel etc.!

Ladder-frames on today cars like the notorious US-pick ups are 50ies design! Not to mention the sucking V8`s fitted in them!

    Just my 2 cts!

    Ciao!
    Walter

75% of the product line sucked. But forget that, wasn't it management that sat on the other side of the table when those contracts were hammered out and then signed them?

    Or??

Can't blame it on the UAW. They were just taking what GM agreed to just like every other business negotiation.
