My 355 is in need of a new clutch disc, so I'm looking for some recommendations. I've done some searching and have seen others that have had good success with relining the existing clutch (with both standard organic and Kevlar), but have not found any recommended companies to do so. The one place I did find a rebuilt sport clutch and new oem clutch was on ICP (for around the same price), but haven't seen any reports on how the sport clutch compares to OEM. The only other place I can find just the disc is on ferrparts, and they have both new and relined. If anybody can provide recommendations on the type of clutch and, importantly, where to get it whether it be rebuilt or new, I'd appreciate it. Use will be both street and track - as much track time as I can manage. Car is a '95 Berlinetta with HR springs, challenge rims and test pipes. I plan to run MPSC tires or similar on the challenge rims. I don't mind replacing it every couple of years if it's easier on the rest of the car as it's a pretty quick job.

I talked to Friction Materials, $165 plus shipping for a relined clutch with 1-2 day turnaround. They use high heat organics.

HR clutch quoted me $375 for a Kevlar/ceramic dual friction reline, suitabe for street/track use.

I may order a stock (or stock relined) clutch and send my clutch to HR for the Kevlar/Ceramic treatment and then swap next time I have to take the pumpkin off. I don't really want to have the car immobile for a week or two waiting for shipping etc. as I need the garage to work on other stuff.

Thanks...I'll send them my spare clutch for a reline so it's ready when I'm due for a new one on my F1 :D

Can you change friction materials and still keep the F1 system happy?

I have to be honest, that would make me nervous too. Plus, the factory part is not too expensive and seems to be a good part. I guess there is nothing to hurt, but I'll be sticking with the OEM.

I've read of somebody on FChat using Kevlar on an F1 with no problem, but I'm looking to just go with the 'standard' high heat organics that was mentioned.
