Hi Stephan, didn't know you collected models aswell.
How about BBR & other high end models. Do they make all Ferraris or just a select few?

exists as a model, but perhaps as high as 80% do, if you don't car what scale. One-off hand mades in large scales can cost $30,000 but most die cast are in the $20-$40 range.

Thanks for your reply. I'm interested in 1/12 or 1/18 scale. Preferably the better quality ones. I have a few hot wheels aswell as UT models for other car brands but want something better.

For 1/18 model, Kyosho did made a good quality of 328GTB, 308QV, 308GTB, 365GTB/44, 365GTB/Daytona. However, Kyosho did not made all Ferrari models.

For Hotwheel, their discontinued 288GTO is better than BBurago alot.

Also, by comparing with other Ferrari models.

For F40, F50, 512TR or Testerossa, the quaility of HW is slightly better than BB. But personally, I kept BB F40 rather than HW.

For F360, I like BB more. The HW ones are terrible. F360 Spyder and F360 CS, F430, F512M only HW made it, so no choice.

For F355, UT has good paint, but HW has better styling. um, as F355 is my favorite, so I have all color/version of HW & UT F355s, and I has about 40pcs.

For 250GTO/250LM/250TR, I have no comment on it, but I do believe HW is better. For racing models, the paint quality of HW is relatively poor than those plain color version.

    Hope this helps.

for 1/12, Fujimi and Kyosho both made the F40s, Fujimi ones is long discontinue, price is high and not easy to find now. For Kyosho, it do looks good, they are going to release the light weight version with racing rim and window. you better wait for that.

Kyosho will release their Enzo, it will you decision on wait KY Enzo or just buy the Tamiya Enzo Red (or black ones - going to release coming Dec 05). The KY is making by metal, Tamiya is in plastic. For me, I have the Tamiya Enzo, but when KY issue their Enzo, I will sell my Tamiya Enzo immediately.

For F50, Tamiya released 2 versions of F50, the 1st version is a fully built, only 800pcs made, price ranging from 300USD and up. For the 2nd version, a semi-assembly version, this one is a better paint and mold than the 1st version. Also, there are aftermarket transkit which can convert it to a F50 GT1 testcar.

For 250GTO, only revell made it, it has several race versions, plain color versions are available at red and yellow, but they are discontinued. the price is about 200-300USD, except the blue No 24 race version, it still availabe at 80-150USD range at ebay.

For F348TB/TS/targa, BBurago and Mira (pop lights), the quality are fair for both.

512TR , HW, BB, Mira (pop up lights), the BB and HW are relatively cheap, the Mira ones is over 50USD at Ebay. Sometimes, you can find some cheap one at ebay.de, but the s/h is a big issue. Mira did made the 512Targa.

Anson is the only maker for the 328GTS.

I thought HW only came out with the F512M(Red, Black and Chrome), not the TR?

There is 512TR by HW, red one for boxed version, and yellow one for kit version. I did not see it long time in ebay....

    http://www.cavallinomodels.com/Models/1980/tr.htm

Take a look the one has single side mirror on its left side., that's the HW version.

The only 512TR made is by Mira in 1/18. The detail is very basic and not really worth over $50 , but then again , no one else ever made them. The HW 512M is based off the Mira 512TR mold.
