430 New cup holder

Well that’s similar to the one I bought a few years back but mine is in CF.

Nice work. I would like one since I was forced to start smoking in order to utilize the space. J/K I ended up w the CF cup holder and it looks so out of place.

Smart that you did not center the cup since the e-brake comes down on the CF one just a tad.

 

I think it would be a good idea to even work a mini USB connector into the design since you have a power connector underneath anyway you could hook a converter up to. You could move the cup toward the bottom and add the mini USB connector to the top.

 

Nice setup. In my 360, I made a custom panel that replaced the one in the very back of the console that holds a voltage gauge, 2 usb plugs, and a standard 12v plug. Good thing is the OEM panel was glued down so if I want to be concourse correct, I can just set the pretty leather panel on top. Might be an option on the 430 as well.

 

Do you mind sharing the story file? I need to do this for my dad’s 360 too.

I’d love someone to make a design that uses the stock ashtray lid with the flags, but pops open to reveal a cup holder instead of the ashtray and lighter. I love the OEM look when closed, but need a cupholder in my life.

 

My 360 had the carbon cupholder in the center, but thankfully arrived with the cig lighter and factory lid piece. I painted the cup holder since it looked a bit out of place. Two other things -

These aftermarket cupholders are a great idea, but in the 360, the handbrake handle interferes just slightly with the cup in that same spot, so an 'offset' would be adviced.

Secondly and slightly off topic, I added a USB port under the little lid for the front trunk and gas door in one of those blank spots. Fits super snug after some work.

Very clever idea. I used on of the blanks on the dash next to the Sport switch to run my lightning cable, which is conveniently right beneath where my phone sits on its windshield mount to run Waze while I’m driving. The cable pushes back in behind the dash when not in use, and all you see is the little lightning connector sitting neatly in a grommet in the blank.
Additionally, I also painted the CF cupholder in my 360 matte black to match the adjacent black plastic.

 

Ha! I may have gotten the notion to redo the carbon cup holder from you! So you just punched a hole in the switch blank and the cable goes through that? Or...? A photo would be helpful and you can PM it or post here yet I didn't want to derail this thread too far afield. However, these seem to be related topics.

May I ask where you bought the USB port panel? Considering the same mod for my 360. What are you wiring it to?

Sure thing, it was this one from Amazon. Just wired it to cig lighter wire.

I need a solution as well. My cup holder rarely goes with me. She says the ride is too bumpy
