4 years ago I picked up a 2008 Maserati GT as a 6 month a year daily driver. It was a great decision - I just love the car. Looks awesome, drives awesome, sounds good and is very comfortable.

My 2008 is now for sale as I upgraded to a 2013 Sport - One owner car, 7160 miles, Nero Carbonio / Cuoio, 20" Neptune wheels, sport seats, 4.7L killer exhaust.

I just got the car last Friday and sun of a gun - like my 2008, this one needs a headliner too (common problem - I'm told the foam fails). I may go with Alcantara instead.

I'm super excited to get this on the road. :)

And, I'm scared ****less that it's going to get hurt in my shop - gotta get it out of there ASAP ;)

Beautiful car. Always wanted one. Almost pulled the trigger on an 06 gransport but decided against it. Exhaust notes on these cars is amazing.

I just love that it is Nero Carbonio. Great color. I prefer it to gloss black.

    Nice!
I have a 3200GT as a daily driver. Terribly quick when the turbo's kick in. But not as smooth as yours...

Thanks guys. Seems the selling dealer has come through on coving the cost of the needed headliner. Let's see if the check comes ;)

My 2008 is for sale and I plan to take care of the headliner in that one too.

Looks very pretty! Since I'm too lazy to look it up, what are the major differences between the 13 and 08?

Love the new avatar, Jim :)

The 08 is the first year made, base model (4.2L). The 13 is a sport (4.7L) which has a more aggressive front end, slight rear spoiler on the trunk, 20" Neptune wheels over the 19" on the 08 (20" were available). The exhaust on the 13 is pretty insane and I've not even driven it yet. 13 has BT, sport seats (I believe the seats came available in 13 - even a 12 sport did not have those seats). Rocker panels are different too.

    Me too ;)

My 08 has been very reliable - I put close to 30K miles on in 4 seasons. I had 2 issues - seized dip stick in dipstick tube - had to remove tube and replace both - did it myself for a couple hundred. Had a transmission leak at an electrical connector, diagnosed myself and bought the parts but ended up having Scuderia Performante do the repair. Aside from that, they eat tires but it's a great car.

Pretty awesome daily! I've really been looking at these cars. I think, especially at the price point, they are a ton of car and they seem to be pretty solid in terms of reliability, outside of small, stupid issues like the headliner and taillight issues. Has that been the case in your experience?

Ken, both my 2008 and my new 2013 have headliner issues. The selling dealer of this 2013 (non Maserati) did not disclose the headline issue when I specifically asked and therefore they agreed to send me a check although I've not received it yet. I'm hoping to get the headliner out in the next few days. No tail light issues.

My 2008 is for sale and what I feel is a great value - you are about 3 hours from me so if interested, send me an email or give me a call 716-553-6130 dave.lelonek@**********.com

Hey Dave, I’m not ready to buy just yet, still in the research stages. Thanks for the offer though, I hope it sells quickly for you!

    Ah crap - I'm pissed! :(

Finally got caught up a bit to take the weekend off and install the new head liner (Alcantara) in my new Maserati, I've got the interior 80% apart, old head liner out, ready to install new and take the new one out of the box to find the fiber board has been creased. Dead in the water - now I need to get a replacement.

All the parts will need to find their way into my office for whatever amount of time it takes. Crap! I was hoping to drive the car in a coupe days.
