Hello All, First of all, I would like to thank all of the guys that helped me along the way in this forum to remove the dashboard from my 360. Also, the guys who helped me in identifying some mystery pieces. I just received my reupholstered dashboard and it is a real beauty. Automotive Restorations in Stratford, CT did the work for me and they did a real good job as you can see from the pictures below. The real task now is to put it all together. Thanks! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks awesome. If I may ask, how do those windshield defrost trim parts come off. I just discovered that mine are very sticky and want to fix them. Do they just pop off? What holds them on? I know the under trim has screws. Thanks for any help, Kevin
The defrost trim is attached with spring clips from the bottom which cannot be reinstalled without removing the dash. You can break the plastic pins off of the old vents to remove them, and then drop the new vents into the slots. I'v got the same issue. Now the leather in those pockets has started to shrink back and the vents no longer site flush.
I cleaned the defrost pieces in my old dashboard in place with Goof-Off, which you can get from a any hardware store. It is a little hard to get to them but it can be done. I also used Goof-Off to clean the sticky ash-tray and the vent inserts. It work very well.
It still amazes me that Ferrari produces trim products that have this stupid soft coating. It's not as if it was one model year and they corrected the issue but it went on for years. Didn't they test these in a hot climate like other manufacturers? Alan
