Dear Friends,

All of the staff of the French Quarter Classic most sincerely thank you for your concerns and thoughts during this trying time created by Katrina's unwelcome visit to new Orleans.

The city has received a hard blow. However, the unique mix of cultures and unmatched spirit of New Orleans will never die. we will rebuild the Big Easy.

Many of you have most generously contacted to donate your entry fees to the recovery effort;this gesture is most appreciated and will never be forgotten. However, we have decided the best way to benefit this community is to reschedule the FQC to December 8-11, 2005.

This city needs this event now more than ever. Even though the impact on the local economy is just north of one half million dollars, the money directly benefits the local hotels, restaurants, police departments and the many venues we emply to make the FQC the best Ferrari party ever.

Appropriately our charity this year will focus on Katrina's victims. All the proceeds will be donated to the men and women of the New Orleans Police Department who braved against all odds to protect our beloved city, while most of them lost their homes and every possession. They cannot wait to welcome us back.

We will gladly refund the entry fees of the folks who cannot attend, but all of us would love to see you in December. The city will be ready for us! We promise that this post-Katrina edition of the FQC will be by far the very best ever.

Have you finished clearing?? We should have framed a hay barn or something with the timber..........been thinking of you, padner........praying that the chain saw didn't 'kick back' on you.

We see a lot of secondary injuries as the clearing activities take place.

 

I just need two ANSA exhaust systems and a belt/tensioner service to make it......oh, and four sets of tires........maybe fresh oil and plugs.....

Hopefully Pirelli won't mind the Goodyear Blimp flying over, and checking on me!

William and I can't make it because we have exams.
But we DO have our videos, so I guess that's something.

 

For those who have not booked the hotel yet, the cheapest rates seem to be available on line, versus calling in and asking for the Ferrari rate. $235/night for the Jr. suite and $285/night for the full suite.

 

Well, I'll be under the knife for my shoulder !!! I have one more 6 hours race to do the 22nd and I'm done for the year...Gona miss this time, have fun

For once my cars are OK but I'm not. The Topeka wall got the best of my shoulders!! I'll be out for at least 3 month ..per shoulder..I like the donation deal, I'm in.

You big wimp! I showed up with a big boot on my foot last year, you can certainly show up in a sling. Hell, I was going to wear a sling this year myself just so I had an extra place to hold my drink. What are we going to tell the Pirelli girls when you don't make it, they'll be very upset.

So sorry, but couldn't shift at all last week end...Right after the right shoulder, they want to do the left one (mid Dec.) not a fun Winter but a must to be ready by Spring. have a drink or two for me ( or more)

While we here in South Florida are heartened that our friends John and Franco are going to move forward with the FQC, we've also been presented with a delema as the new date conflicts with an event we are doing in Palm Beach, The Palm Beach Supercar Weekend.

We'd rather obviously see the "original" postponed FQC date of early March
go through but since that has not come to pass, we've had to make some
difficult personal decisions that will split our groups up which is most
unfortunate.

I will look forward to the 2006 version of the FQC but for this year, I have
to remain with my commitments to our "home" event in Palm Beach.

Wow, I remeber you. i talked to you about your bad foot on track day. Didnt know you were an F-chatter. Small world.

 

This year I am healthy and looking forward to the track day. Find me again and I'd be happy to take you out for a spin around No Problems Raceway.

I heard the dates were moved back to march.

 

Chris Parr has that info, thru the grapevine.

Both my cars were accepted but I have not seen an email yet.....with new dates.

But having cleaned a house after Carla ('61) I can understand Franco and John have bigger issues right now.

I'm sure we'll hear something soon, until then we'll keep them in our thoughts and prayers......
