------- yesterday the first book was delivered in Menlo Park, CA so it won`t take long for you guys having a tracking no. -------- That was me! As I told Matthias via email, the book is just beautiful; I'm having a great time reading through it.
Based on my tracking number my book is still sitting in Germany or in customs. It looks like it was mailed on 23 Dec and as of today... no record in the USA. Not suprising, my steering wheel from the UK sat in customs for two weeks before it was forwarded on to me late last year. Bob (Greencastle, Indiana)
Received my copy today (Seattle, WA) and have been spending the last hour pouring over the book. Magnificent! Really appreciate the attention detail on so many levels. Thanks Matthias for this wonderful contribution to the Ferrari community.
My understanding was it was shipped DHL out of Germany and then would use USPS as the carrier inside the USA (with the same tracking number). If I have my story wrong let me know. Unfortunately, I still can not find any records after 29 Dec. I hope it is not lost. That would be really sad.
Forget DHL, that's nothing else than the regular German post (also here in Switzerland). Useless and totally unreliable. Here in Switzerland they throw registered packages in front of the door and don't even wait or ask for the signature of the person who is supposed to receive the package. That's why I always use Fedex and nothing else. It may possibly be more expensive but always worth the money. Marcel Massini
Hello Marcel, I asked Fedx and UPS for prices, they are three times higher.. most customers are not willing to pay half the book price on top for shipping. 3,5 Kg is very expensive. So you can`t compare the services as they don`t have the same price. And if you ship with Fedex and UPS within Europe price gap is even wider... Regards Matthias
I actually like DHL. I have had GREAT service from them. As I understand it, DHL gets the package to the USA and then the USPS takes it from there.... that is where I worry. I have had many problems with the USPS. I always send important stuff certisfied/insured when I use USPS. btw, no delivery today.... :-(
Bob, you need to brave now. I´m very uphappy particular with your delivery, as you are so keen to get the book. I packed 50 parcels today, will do another 50 tomorrow and on Monday... If your book hasn`t arrived by mid next week, I will investigate. Regards Matthias PS: For today I´m knackered (totally finished, shagged out)
I agree. The problem is with the US Postal Service. Although it has been popular for years to complain about them, in my opinion it has not been justified - until just recently! The US Postal service used to function very well, but something has gone seriously wrong with them in the last couple of months. I have had three alarming experiences with postal packages lately. No need to bore you with the details, but one of the packages is still missing. It almost seems like a deliberate slow-down, perhaps as a protest action, by the postal employees. I am only guessing here, but all I know is that things are not well with the US Postal Service at this time. It is true though, as Matthias says, that international shipments of any size or weight is just prohibitively expensive with UPS or FedEx. As an example, a box with a Dino rear window costs $80 to ship from US to Europe with the Post Office. The same package would cost $290 to $340 with UPS or FedEx. Post parcel is the only way to go for some shipments. Matthias, I am just as eager to order my copy! I just thought I should wait until the initial rush is over. Can I place an order for delivery to Sweden in April? It would save on shipping, and the postal service between Germany and Sweden always seems to work perfectly - just like the USPS used to.

I may be the only one having this problem but when I tried to pay with pay pal, nothing happens. I just tried to sign on to pay pal direct instead of using the link. I received a pop up that asks for my name date of birth soc sec no atm card no cv number on card address...I got scared... In the past I have only used pay pal to purchase goodies from e bay and always takes me direct to my password and it is done. Can someone help??
Be careful. Paypal is great but it sounds like you might have run into some hacker(s). I NEVER give out my SS# or card numbers to a pop-up. I paid from my book via paypal without any problems. Best of luck. You may want to contact paypal and report your issue. I would.
Yesterday my copy of the book arrived and I'm very, very impressed! What an amazing level of detail and quality - simply fantastic! Matthias, congratulations on this wonderful book - great job!!! Ciao, Lars T.
Hello Sal, I will resend the confirmation with direkt Link to PayPal, should work without any problem... Regards Matthias
