I just thought I would follow up.. a couple of weeks a go I posted that I was looking for a DINO GT . I received information from many of you regarding tips and a few offers of possible cars .
I wanted to tell you I was successful in finding the perfect Dino Gt thanks to help from all of you and in Particular Freeman who was immensely helpful . I received the title and books today and now I am waiting for the car to arrive . It is a past 98.5 Platinum level car that has very good history and has passed a PPI by TOM S. and with help from Mathias it has been verified to be numbers matching also .
    SO Now the BIG wait.
I have found this forum to be top notch and thank you all for the help ... In particular Freeman , Tom, and Mathias. However many of you were very helpful.

Welcome, Larry! And congratulations. I know how you feel. I received my books and tools ahead, and my car came later. It was shipped from NY, and I'm in Manila. But your car will get there, and please post photos when it does.

Steve, I have the full set of The Persuaders; that was where I saw my first Dino in motion.

    All the best,

    Andres

    LarryH,

I think you will love your car.
I am not aware of any other car that looks, sounds, and drives like a Dino at anywhere near its price.

MY dino finally was loaded on the truck from Tom Shaunessey's shop yesterday now for the LONG trip to Virginia I used Tom Sundays auto Transport; as a side note Tom SUNDAY runs a nice enclosed transport company I have been using him since around 2000.
Tom was nice enough to send a picture of the car being loaded. I also found a tube video of the car receiving the Platinum award at concourso Italiano a few years ago . It is amazing that if you look, knowing a little history on a car how much information is actually out in Cyber space on these cars.
I have found the car was owned by the gentleman I purchased the car from for the last 11 or 12 years and full owner history and all the books and tools etc came with the car own paper this is the type just what I was looking for.
I know this is kind of meaningless to most people but I am really in to knowing the history of cars I buy and now am looking forward to finally owning this fine car.

Well the long wait is over the car arrived Yesterday . My friends at Sundays auto Transport had the car safely trucked across the country it arrived in show ready condition . The car is as nice as any Dino I have seen . The Red paint looks perfect condition the interior was very good and the seats had cloth protective cover on them when i took the covers off it looked like they were brand new. Of course as with every classic car I have bought there was 0 gas in it so once I put some gas in I took it for a nice drive what a blast this is the first time I had driven a dino ever. It sure is cool what a lite feeling car nothing like the feel of a nicely care for older sports car. When I took it home I parked next to my 550 the 550 looks like a truck sitting next to it. Of course being the typical car guy I spent most of my first drive "getting the feel for it" while it does not have the speed of my 550 or California it is very tight and maneuverable almost go kart like . I ended up with a Miata behind me at the stop light and even that looked a little imposing .
THe first night in the garage I tried to learn how to work all the controls so the next day driving to work (today) I was very confident in it.
Punch list I think I would like a new or replacement steering wheel the top half is a little weak. I do not like the modern radio that does not seem to work and is not period correct if anyone had a Becker period correct radio that would fit let me know . THe car has what appears to be the factory correct electric antennae which I cannot figure out how to raise .
small problem i have brake light that comes on intermittently but the brakes work great they were bleed right before they were went to me THe fluid level is full any tips . per Tom S the light was not on before he bleed it. Not a big deal but would be nice to fit .
THis is my first mid engine car . I keep looking back to see who is coming up (lol) with the engine sound behind it feels right running 6000 rpm and up.....
So that is my story I love the car....
I have seen a lot of dines at auctions over the year and this is at least as nice as the best I have seen and it came from an owner of 11 years with little "prep" for selling

Great write-up. The Dino is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. When you get some time on your hands, please post some pictures of your new car. Congratulations on your new car and enjoy in good health.
