Following closely on the Superamerica-drawing (which I mistakingly posted in the collectables-section) here's a new one. You can tell I have some spare time on my hands. Pictured are 0010/M and 0066/M.

Hope you like despite of the crappy pic.

    Wow...

Exactly 0 (that's zero!) comments in about 24 hours. Not even negative ones.

Oh well... on to the next one.

It really looks nice. Still - business slow, or holidays, or ...?

I think it looks great. Would probably get more compliments if the pic was larger, and nobody wants to hear 'why hasn't anyone commented?". I like the contrast of the different body styles.

I know, but I figured no one was going to comment anyway, so I figured I just say it out loud.

It´s not really a problem though. Even my wife said she finds it somewhat boring, and that´s ok. Luckily this is passing time and in the end I only do it for myself. Of course it´s always nice to have your work appreciated, but by no means necessary.

None the less, thanks for the comments guys :D

I for one, surely like what I see, and as always you have made a wonderful piece of art! :)
I really like the fact that you have two different cars in the same drawing, and both front and rear views of a 166.......brilliant idea!

    Best

Okay, here's a negative one (or rather: a point of critique): the tires look like they are too flat at the bottom. Your other drawing had the same problem. That said I like the overall "feel" of your drawings. They look a bit like the design sketches of PF, Vignale etc.
I.e. they're not perfect (like someone who uses a real photograph as a "blotting pad") but capture the essence of the car. Reflections etc. are very nice too (I always had problems with those).

    Best, Peter

    Hi Marnix :)

I can only back up Carsten's words about your art! :) I like it... if only I could paint as good as you!!!
It's deffinately not boring! I love it :)

I hope you keep posting your art, as I think you're very talented :)

    Looks great.
I really think the beauty and proportions of the 166 coupe are even now underappreciated. The Cisitalia 202 is great and all, but it did not have the beauty through and through that the 166 does.

    Beautiful artwork!

I see what your mean. Drawing ´free hand´ wheels is always the difficult part for me. In any angle, but a perfect side angle, the wheels aren´t a perfect circle. The funny thing is, in the first free sketch, it usually works out fine. The trouble starts when I try to do it nicely for the definitive version.

    thanks for the feedback!

now I feel embarrassed because of my whiny comment.

according to my wife: they´re just a bunch of cars and by now she knows I like to draw cars.

She want´s me to do a Monaco scenery, with a tiny F1car somewhere in there. I don´t know about that one.

So true......Wheels and tires are a nightmare to draw freehand, and I struggled with wheels in perspective for many years before reaching at least some level of perfection! There are unbelieveably many different angles for a wheel and it can be extremely difficult to get them right!
A good tip is to start with the shape of the wheels and then make the car in the right angle according to the wheels......that's the way I learned to do wheels! :)

Very nice , what paper are you using , Canson?, are you using markers and pastel? or crayons?.

For the wheels, just use ellypse templates, it will make it easier for your drawings.

Keep it up, by the way, didn't you post a new Dino sketch in the past?

Well, I think there's nothing wrong with the shape of your wheels but you should lower the shadow of the car. The Touring berlinetta is already much better than the barchetta in that respect. But I must admit I have something with wheels. It's the same with scale models. If the wheels aren't done right the whole car doesn't sit well. Keep up the good work!

    Best regards, Peter

I think it's a great idea! :) Something like Alfredo De la Maria ;)
You can see some of his art at my site.. under the link ART!
And well if she really isn't into "cars"... then it may be boring for her to look at. But still...she should be able to see if it's good or not ;);)

Why? All artists needs to hear critiques and comments once in a while, to keep up his/hers work I guess :):) I know the feeling... you've made something you like and wants to share... and hopefully some people will like it and comment on it... That's natural isn't it? :)

Ah, you mean the shape of the actual tyre? Not so much the shape of the wheel itself? And more shadow underneath the bodywork. That should be easily fixed.

wow.... I doubt if I ever reach this much talent. I´d love to put ´movement´ in a drawing or painting, but untill this day I haven´t managed to do so. In the future I want to take up painting. Who knows how that´ll work out!

(BTW: I Love Carsten´s Miura drawing! As well as your ´pranching horse-emblem´drawing. I´d put that up in my future office)

Same here :D I would love to learn how to put motion on the canvas... Maybe some day I can, who knows ;)
Painting is a whole different thing, I found out. Some years ago I was only drawing with pencils... later on I tried paint on canvas... that's totally different but funny :)

Yeah I like his Miura drawing too... and all the others too ;)
And thanks for your comment on my painting too :)
