Could be a regular 3er coupe though.

Yes, i believe the spy shots are of a regular 3 series coupe, since there was no way for the photographer to know what was under that hood. It's good to see some shots of what the new design may look like, although i believe the 400hp V8 engine rumor might still be just that, a rumor.

    Single and not dual tips?

    Thats a long wheelbase for a M3.

If that doesn't give it away its not the new M3, you don't test an M3 on 17" rims with touring tires...

It is not the new M3. It looks to be the new 3 series turbo instead.

    Why?
Fenders not as pronounced as in other M offerings
No side vent, or indication of a covered side vent
    Wheels are too small.
    Twin single exhaust cutouts.

And it looks like some sort of front mount intercooler or a long radiator up front.

yea i think its just a rumor...b/c if BMW puts a 400 hp engine in that thing then i think it wont even stay on the ground

Sure it will. they most certainly can put a 400 hp supercharged V8 inside the M3, and if the production costs warrant doing so, then they will.

Why would they put a supercharged anything in anything. This is BMW. They don't supercharge.

if you look closely you'll notice that the roof and 'C' pillar are smooth and normal, but the from the 'A' pillar down and along the side and rear the car seems to have some body cladding of some sort hiding the real dimensions. the wheel arches are quite pronounced if you were to remove all that cladding. the vents don't need to be on a test mule. as for the tires well they could be test the climate ability and not the handling, dunno. the twin tips on the last M3 are just show so there is no need to put twin tips and a test mule when the whole point is to hide it anyways.

ofcourse these are my 2 cents.
