Bought my car a year ago from a Dealer in California. Is a 430 6-speed gated. At the time it had 12k miles and had PPI with a favorable report. I have driven it 2500 miles since with no issues, except for a small oil leak. Took it to Ferrari of Atlanta back in November for a full service and at that time everything was fine. In early June, I took it back to repair the leak. After taking a look, FOA determined engine was leaking around front cover and also where the crankcase upper and lower half meet. They took bottom off and were in the process of cleaning for new sealant to be applied when they discovered there was play at the two rear connecting rods. We do not know the reason, and will never know what really happened. FOA says the oil/water pump is new. Could be that previous owner or dealer had a problem with oil pump and decided to just replace pump. It could also be that it just happened to this engine.
I considered doing an overhaul, but after considering the cost of overhaul and how it would hold up in the long run, I just decided to install a new engine from Ferrari, including new clutch. (Ouch !! I know that's what you are thinking). I love this car and want to keep it for a while. Also, I think if I were ever to sell this car, I would have a better chance of selling it with a new engine than if it had a record of rebuilt engine in it. The new engine came with all new accesories, including alternator, oil/water pump, steering pump, carbon fiber intake, air flow sensors, etc. it also comes with a full 2 year warranty.
I will be selling the parts of the engine that came out in the next few days. I will post on Ferrari chat first before going to eBay. I have a person already interested in the crankcase.
If anyone is interested in any of the parts I have, just let me know.

I am just curious. How much does a new motor cost with all the accessories?
