Talk about driving the paint off the car ! Great to see cars being used for their intended purpose. Ivan
Hey, That's Carlos's car. He drove it from Seattle, WA to Pebble Beach in '09, entered on the lawn, and then drove it to the East Coast where it now resides while his daughter attends college there. He's from Costa Rica.
If it came all the way from Costa Rica that might explain the "Latina with patina". So it's good runner. That's great! There are plenty of pretty cars that don't run well. More than one might expect!
You are correct-Carlos' Maserati-apparently he was going to take his 250 GTE but it wasn't ready so he showed up with the Maserati. I believe he and his son drove up from Boston, picked up his daughter along the route on day 3 and finished the trip without incident. The car was like the EverReady bunny-it just kept going and going. Fun car to watch and follow along the road. Nice to see-it won the prize for vintage spirit and most unusual paint job.
Yes, it's a great car. It was sourced here in the USA through Larry Ruben at one time. The car is not from Costa Rica. RF.
