    Local New Englanders-
I was wondering if there is any interest in combining some of our cash to buy a decent exhaust gas analyzer we can all use? I propose that if we decide to get one- we just keep it at Verell's since that is usually where we join up to work on our cars.

I would think maybe 50-100 bucks each from a number of us would get it done and we could get a nice 4 or 5 gas mid-grade version.

I'm positive we all could use a little mixture adjustment from time to time!

Verell? Birdman? enjoythemusic? Chris03053? spider348? rsvmille676 (for your motorcycles!) anybody else?

If nobody is interested, I'm just going to buy one for myself and none of you can borrow it!! ;)

Any suggestions on a particular unit? Any mechanics on here that want to get rid of an old one?

    Thanks folks-

    jwise

    Jwise,

i'll gladly kick in even though i'll probably be installing a CO2 detector on the exhaust... then hooking it up to my in-car data acqusition unit that can capture data for 4 to 8 hours depanding on 20Hz, 30Hz or 40Hz sampling rate. Still, would gladly pitch in a few dollars to the cause. Hit me up for it on Sunday at Verells.

    Hey Chris,
It's a tool used to determine the fuel/air ratio in your exhaust gases which indicates proper mixture. It's really the best way to check if your fuel mixture is correct.

Here is a cheaper single gas version:

Birdman, Steven- sounds good! I'm sure Verell will be along with some suggestions.

    Thanks again-

    Dudes,

i believe we need a unit that can record/store the data while we DRIVE the car. In oither words, the car needs to be under load for accuracy.
