I ran today into a friend and over conversation he told that he recieved a letter from Ferrari about the new entry model. The car will either be a rear mid engine or a front engine, if it ends up front engine then it might look somewhat like the new 599GTB. He also said that if it was a mid engine that the car most likely will have a reworked Maserati engine, but he also thinks that it could be a 6 cylinder. About the letter he said that he has it, the other stuff he mentioned I didn't get to ask if it was in the letter or info from the Ferrari sales manager that he talked to. I know this guy wont make stuff up, but the dealer has not talk to me about any of this. Has anyone else recieved a letter or were approached by their local dealers about this issue?

    No. Haven't heard of it.

But, if it is TOO entry-level, I will be selling my Ferrari and getting a Lambo. I already have an "entry level" Ferrari. And now they are going to take that name from me?? ;-)

Even the Gallardo is still insanely priced as an "affordable" model. Ha!!

I got this car because I never thought I could afford a Ferrari, yet had ALWAYS wanted one. Have always loved them partly because of that.

If they start churning out new Ferraris that are less than $100k, I won't be a happy camper......

And a SIX?? The Dino is a great story/tribute/exception. Doing anything in a SIX would be a slap in the face of Dino/Enzo IMO.

    Oh well.....

Those Diablos are looking more and more "affordable" every day anyway.

If this is true, I don't think the car will be priced below 140k and at that price and little demand, I think this car will sell for 190k in the second market or even more. I don't think Ferrari needs to go this way, but if they do, then I think it the prestige will lower to a step thats hard to accept.

Sounds like a rehashed 'California/Dino' rumor. It's been pretty much determined to be a non-starter.

Bill, explain how a new cheaper model changes the appeal of a 3x8? It still remains a classic beautiful expression of Italian style, something that does not apply to most modern versions.
