I got mine from Eurospares in the UK. Amazing to work with!
I made spacers for the heat shield on the twin sound, used it for a few months, no scratches when I sold it I picked up my cap3 used, it already has scratches, but the spacers I made do in fact keep the shield from touching the muffler can.
I should point out that your car is a 5.2.. the heatshield is different as is the y pipe. There is no amount of spacing that would have cleared my heatshield especially when it’s hot and expanded. The y pipe and bypass is centered perfect in the middle of airbox heatshield and it will rub all day.
I am not sure what Tubi is on it. I wish there was more info on it. I like the low end grunt and growl. There used to be a great Italian car event at the Poconos. At one event there was a Ford GT there and the owner had this racing exhaust on it. It sounded ok when he was idling through the pits, but when he put it on the track on got on it, it sounded like it was a nascar. It had a lot of grunt and growl as well.
That vid was uploaded to Youtube on Jan 5 2008. Although the Tubi Evolution was released in 2008, chances are that car has the standard Tubi. It sounds like it as well.
I agree. I think this is the standard Tubi. I think the Evolution came out quite a bit after 2008. Elliott could chime in because he is our resident muffler expert and has tried quite a few different ones. You and Kenneyd have gone through quite a few mufflers as well. Info from you three helps us all sort a better system suited to our own personal tastes from your experiences. Some prefer louder more grunt and growl, some more of a high pitched sound. Some want both. So thanks guys for sharing your personal experiences and opinions.
I've had 4 different mufflers and heard several others. The only one I would Still would like to have tried the ms racing exhaust from Japan. Anyway, having tried all that, I am happiest with my current setup (cap3). I have the remote control bypass valve so I can make it quiet when I want it, but most of the time I leave it open. I absolutely love the idle and low end wind with the valve open.
It might have been this Ford GT back in 2007, Jim... Image Unavailable, Please Login When it comes to exhausts, I have it easy. I use the Challenge muffler on tracks with noise restrictions... Laniri I think with valve open I think Twin sound with remote valve controller opening and closing Here is the cap3
Dont know about 355 (I got tubi) but on Testarossa Kreissieg is the sound king Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i havent had time but i need to figure out headers for my 512tr - i may try a new muffler on that too.
For sure thats a standard tubi, potentially a loud version but not an evolution. Also sounds like an F1 so a 5.2 car.
The problem with that design be it Kriessieg, Challenge, Armytrix etc... is it’s a straight through pipe when the bypass opens. So they all should sound the same or very similar. That’s different than going through a can that is trying to engineer a specific sound if that makes sense.
I bought my tubi in 2002 from manu at scuderia systems uk. Look at these prices! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Didnt realize Tubi sold air filters. What about the header prices? Exchange rate was bad back then too lol. 1 UK Sterling is 1.3 USD today.
Barry, the car that I was talking about was red with white stripes. My friend talked to the owner, who told him that he had one of the Ford racing exhausts on the car. It sounded like thunder when he got on it. I started going to that event in 1991. You would see some of the most amazing cars at that event. In the mid nineties my friends started bringing their Pantera grIV race car. At the time it had around 520hp and they got the weight down to 2400 lbs. it was very fast, especially with one of my friends driving it. It is such a shame that it ended, it was such a great event. I think I saw your car at Limerock a few years ago.
