I just signed paperwork yesterday on a 2014 F12. My wife and I are super excited. A few repairs are getting done before we can take it home. What I am more excited about is we are going to surprise my oldest son who is turning 10 for his birthday in a week. The dealership is planning on doing a reveal and hopefully a cake as part of the surprise. Any ideas on how to make it even more special? This is our first exotic. We have been dreaming about it for years. Pictures of the F12 and of my son and I when we lived in Manhattan at the 70th anniversary stock exchange event when he was 5 years old. Your first exotic (and an F12 at that!) is already special enough. There’s no need to add anything more as the day will be one big high for you and your family (and you’re unlikely to come down from it for days).
Be sure to have dealer get him a t shirt/jacket and hat! he will wear it with pride knowing that he has a Ferrari at home.
We have a top golf party down the road planned, what we are going to do is go look at cars for "fun" before his party with friends. So far he suspects nothing though my wife and I are anxious to drive
Wonderful , When I got my first (458 spider in 2014) I took my , then ,14 year old boy out for the first ride for both of us and he was grinning from ear to ear the whole drive. I asked him why and he said , 'Because , I can't believe we have a Ferrari' Great memories
Congratulations! Thats an amazing surprise. I surprised my daughter as well when the 458 was delivered at home. Those moments are priceless! Capture them and enjoy! Btw is that at FoW? If so, looking forward to you coming to katies in the f12.
Thats very nice and special! Happy for you and the little guy congrats! I think all youre doing is more than enough
Well done and congratulations! My only advice (beyond driving the wheels off it) is to open the exhaust baffles up full time. Best, Paul
Maybe let him start it for you and get a forever video clip. You could go through some super car starts on YT beforehand.
In a car-related twist on the tradition of the 'King Cake' they do at Mardi Gras, instead of the plastic baby you could hide a toy Ferrari in one piece of the cake (his!). Then as he marvels at having been served the 'special' piece, you shift toward saying how cool it'd be if only there was a life-sized version of it available... Just a thought. Either way, enjoy this special time for all of you!
Congratulations on your first Ferrari. The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta holds a special place in my heart. It was the first new Ferrari that I was able to order. My daughter and I configured it together with the dealer. I waited 2 years, 11 months, and a few days for it to arrive. The car is amazing, and pretty raw for a modern car. When starting it in the garage the entire house reverberates with its magnificent 12 Cylinder soundtrack. This is a car that I will keep forever. I hope that you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Drive it in good times and in good health. Attached is the Ferrari birth image and one of it coming off of the truck at the dealership: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats! Just purchased a F12 too and also my first leap into Ferrari’s. Had it for several months and it is an unbelievable car so no doubt you will have a lot of fun to come. Like you, I have younger kids and I have made them part of the fun and it makes it so much more memorable and enjoyable (for all, especially you). Don’t think you can add much more to make it more fun but good luck sitting at Top Golf for a couple hours when you have a brand new (to you) Ferrari sitting in the parking lot! Let us know how it goes!
Good afternoon guys, I’m Francesco from Italy, I like a lot the forum and I usually find all reply to my question ! My F12 was also delivered last week, I love the NA , also have a F430! The V12 is the best engine ! I like it more than V8 ! Absolute ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats on the new F12. Enjoy the time with your son and really soak it in...they grow up so fast (faster than the F12). That's so great that you get to enjoy this experience with your son. When my daughters were little, they couldn't care less about cars.
Birthday update! The unveiling went great, the dealership did an amazing job they went over and beyond expectations. Here is a shortened video of my son Duke’s reaction. Couldn’t ask for a better outcome. We can’t wait to go on our first cruise together. link here https://youtube.com/shorts/TsPrP2jF_1M?feature=share Brandon
