    Ciao a tutti!

The wait is finally over and I have collected my beauty this Saturday. I used to have a TVR Griffith and thought that was a great car. But the F355 plays in a different league... maybe not in terms of pure acceleration, but in every other aspect. Handling, looks, and, most of all, SOUND!!! The exhaust note is quite incredible. I just love it when the bypass valve opens and the howl starts...
    Here's my first video footage...:

Now to my question: When you lock the car with the top down, the trunk is not locked and can be opened. If I have luggage in the car and don't want it to be nicked, does that mean I'll have to go through the hassle of closing the top each time I leave the car parked? How do other Spider owners handle this?
    Thanks for your input!
    Cheers Andy

I think the alarm goes off if you open the trunk (have not tried it myself). To be honest, I never lock the car anyway. Most people can't even find the door handle :)

    Nice car and congrats.

I never lock with the top down either, if you need to just leave the windows up and lock it. It's pretty hard to open the truck without opening the door 1st anyway. I would rather someone open my door and steal something, than cut my top to do it.
    Beautiful car by the way.

Thanks for your comments, I appreciate it!
And now it's time to head for the garage and give it a nice cleaning job since it will receive a paint treatment tomorrow. It's some clever product a young swiss guy invented. He did some research and came up with something based on nanotechnology. It's supposed to last over a year and does not have the negative side effects a teflon treatment can have. I'm really curious to see if it's going to last and if it will spare me from the tedious waxing and polishing jobs... If anybody's interested here's a link (in german though, sorry...):

Yes, it is. Before getting the car I was thinking about putting the Fuchs exhaust on, but now I'm quite happy with what I've got. It's nice to be able to cruise around town without getting the entire Swiss police on my tail...;-)

    a presto

Right now, my car is in the shop waiting for a Tubi exhaust to be fitted (hopefully by the end of the week i will be able to have it back) but i must admit that the Euro stock exhuast was already great, with a gorgeous scream after the valve opening...

    Enjoy your wonderful car ;-)

Maybe someday you will hear my Fuchs at a meeting :)
Topless parking with windows up, doors locked and nothing
valuable in the trunk or car should be alright for a short time in your country.

    Andy,
Best of luck with the car - its beautiful!

If you lock the doors with the remote, the alarm will sound if someone opens the boot - I found this out the hard way. But, if you lock the doors with the key, the alarm won't sound - just the ignition cut-off is engaged after 2 minutes (and the doors are locked).

    Congratulations!

David, great colour combo on your Spider! Blue/Cream was also very high on my list...
I'm really surprised that so many people seem to like the Silver colour! My initial concern was that the colour could really hurt resale value, but for now I just enjoy it plenty...;-)

Thanks again to everybody for the warm welcome!
    Andy
