I am around 6 months away from pulling the trigger on a childhood dream...to be able to say that I own a Ferrari I know I want / can afford the 430.

If anyone can / will weigh in, how reliable are these cars? I am looking to buy one that would be a weekend 3rd car. however, unlike many f-car owners, I would imagine I would put 4-5K miles per year on it. As such, in 5-6 years, I would have a car that essentially has 30K+ plus miles on it. If so, am I asking for trouble at that point? Would the car basically be worth simply parts value? I ask, only as that I don't believe I have ever seen a Ferrari posted for sale, here or anywhere, that has mileage at that level, so just don't want to be out there on the fringe. I would appreciate / welcome, any and all feedback (Or links to posts if I have overlooked something. Thanks Gents

there's an F430 a while back with 90K miles on it. I think it sold for around $90K. I think that should answer some of your questions. Good luck with your search

Two 430s sold in south Florida last winter with 45,000 to 50,000 miles on them. I don't know the selling price of either vehicle but they both hit the market asking 99,000.

I bought my 430 new in 2005. Now has 24K. It's been very reliable and hasn't turned to dust or ash yet.

I've had my 07 coupe for 3 months. I have already put 1000 miles on it, 600 the first day driving it home. I'm figuring about 3K per year. It currently has 9400 miles on it. I'm owner #3.

Spend them looking thro this section & learning about the car - your questions have come up pretty often recently in various guises

I bought mine from 400 miles away and drove it back. No problem. I owned it for 2 years and never broke down or had any unscheduled service.

Things break and it is a fact. My BMW M5 has been in the dealer more often than my Fcar and it only had 7K miles then.

I am sure, like most of us here, getting your first Fcar would be one of the memorable things in your family. If you can afford it, go get one.

I am also in the market. But I have also owned three Ferraris previously. I can tell you that there are LOTS of F430s with higher mileage. I've seen 74k, 100k, and many with between 25k and 35k miles. The problem, like any car, is miles equals depreciation, and in Ferraris, especially so. The F430B is plenty durable, from the number of higher mileage examples I am seeing, so that in itself is not an issue.

Good luck in your search! ;)

I have an '05 spider! No issues at all. Buy from a dealer and get the color combo you want. High mileage is not to be a prob....its very low mileage on a car that would worry me more. BTW an '07 F430 just sold a while back at a dealer with 76k miles on her! Sweet...somebody got their money's worth! Yay

Good luck and enjoy the experience of Ferrari ownership its like nothing else on earth!

Ha ha! You just came on a Ferrari site and asked the owners if the cars turn into parts value only at 30,000 miles....

    Is / are troll?

(Don't know how much you really looked, but it's about 3 minutes on the web to find 430's with over 30,000 miles for sale or sold previously.)

Not a troll at all...I came on a Ferrari site to get honest feedback from experienced owners regarding reliability "expectations" is all. Did I appear to "trash" the brand in any way with my innocuous question?

I thank you kindly for your oh so very unhelpful reply.
