Ferrari Binoculars

1. I love them!! I'll buy them from www.FchatStuff.com

2. Nah, not interested.

3. Look cool, but too expensive for me at $199.00

4. But, on the other hand, $149.00 would work.

Mornin' All.

I've been offered a new item that looks pretty cool, but then of course I'm kind of a geek for this stuff.

Ferrari Binoculars. Manufactured by Williams Optics. It is licensed Ferrari merchandise.

Here are the specs.

Magnification 8X
Objective Diameter 25 mm
Exit Pupil 3.1 mm
Eye Relief 11 mm
Prism System Roof type, BaK4
Coating Fully-Multi-Coated
Minimum focus distance 1 m (3 feet)
Focus System Center Focus
Water Proof yes
Field(Degree) 8.2
Field (m/1000 m) 143
Weight 290 g

I can't tell you what all that means, maybe some optics expert here can.

They retail for $199.00, I may be able to get us a discount from that price.

I'm trying to gauge interest here. If you like them I'll add them to www.Fchatstuff.com If not, no harm, no foul as they say.

So, HONEST opinions please on the poll above.

thanks,

Dave M.

I don't really like looking through binoculars. If I am too far to really see what is going on, I would just socialize. They do look cool.

I was in the optics business for 20 years with one of the leading companies and do know something about optics. Does it say where they were made? If China they can be good but sometimes not consistent. Also for that price none of the features are outstanding except the Ferrari affiliation so each individual would have to judge how much that is worth. Without knowing where they were made it is difficult to judge the value.

At least this item is somewhat auto-racing-related. They look cool - although certainly overpriced.
Red paint and scuderia shields makes every product better;-) From segways to $3k compact home-entertainment systems.
Has Ferrari gotten into the bottled water biz yet?

It doesn't really say where they are manufactured, does it? I'll send an additional email to the Mfg. rep.

A little digging ads some info.

They look cool, unfortunately I have a couple pairs of binoculars already and I never use them as it is.

I think this should be in the "Collectibles" forum and not the general Ferrari forum.

Just got some additional info.

Ship from Taiwan, so I'm going to assume MADE IN TAIWAN. Might not be a totally safe assumption, but what else do we have to go on?

I can get these inexpensively enough to discount them to $149.00 each, FOB Aston, PA I will have to order a full case (15 sets) in order to offer this price.

So, let me adjust the poll, and ask, is $149 low enough to get you to buy these?

Please re-vote if you have an interest, or send me a pm.

thanks,

Dave

Considering I paid $1,800 for my current pair, I doubt that these would be up to the task... You get what you pay for even if it has a Ferrari in the side...

If I am up to date on my manufacturers I don't think there are any binocular factories left in Taiwan. I know there are a few telescope makers though. Maybe a new factory?

These folks make telescopes too. Including a couple Ferrari styles.

Maybe just a new product from an existing factory?
