With the different Ferrari colors that are available these days, are most buyers not as interested in Red as in years past? It seemed like Red, Black, and Yellow (in that order) were the predominant colors that sold cars before. In fact, most potential buyers weren't event interested in a car unless it was one of the three colors. I'm getting ready to buy and I hesitate to buy any other color that is not one of the main three. BTW, some of these new color combinations look really awesome on the cars and it is nice to see the different colors. Curious to get a read from all you guys....

Depends a lot on the cars body lines both my Ferraris are red but I like Yellow also however I dont think Black or dark Blue shows the cars agressive lines.

Before I purchased my first ferrari I had always wanted a red one. Couldnt find a red car that I wanted. After much searching I settled for a blue one. It was the right car at the right price the the time. After a couple of months the colour really grew to the point where when I had to replace the car after an unfortunate event, I actually looked for a blue one but had to settle for red.

Ive still got the red car, but i'd prefer the blue anyday. The red just doesnt seem to look as aggressive as the blue car.

You mentioned that the price was right becuase the car was blue. I assume you are saying because of the color, you were able to buy the car less than what a red would have cost you right? I think the blue looks great on that 355 B. Obvioulsy, there is still this perception that if it isn't red, the price is a bit lower and possbily harder for re-sale. I personally am glad to see a choice of colors offered for new cars. There are plenty of colors besides the popular three that look beautiful. The only car I never liked was that Prugna color, that just didn't look right on a Ferrari.

Though not familiar with the F-Car market...I would hope that anyone would buy based on a color that they're in love with. Why be unhappy with a color for monetary purposes. Maybe this Modena won't have the same retail...but it is the only color that I would buy if I chose a 360. And as for the F355 I agree that the Midnight is the best color.

The reason why I settled for the blue was because firstly in was on 21000 Kms and it had a major service including water pump belts etc etc and anything else that needed replacing while engine was out and was 30k cheaper than the next red car.

Oh by the way the thing was an absolute rocket.

The colour that I settled for has become my favorite colour in the Fcars.

When purchasing my second one I was actually look for the same blue, but they are pretty rare so I had to settle for a red one.
I've done alot of work to try to equal the performance of the first car but Im still off on power, even with more mods.

I couldn't agree with you more. A person should buy what he wants and not care about the color. There are guys that read FerrariChat that are very wealthy and color is not important. In other words, when they sell (it may take longer) it they don't care if their car sells for some percentage less than a red car. Now there are also guys reading FerrariChat that are not super wealthy and do CARE they get as much as possible when its time to sell. I am one of those guys; I've owned and sold two Red/Tan Ferraris and no one can knock you down on the price becasue of color. When a person is ready to "hit" the buy button on a $80K car (thats probably 8-10 years old), you want to feel like you are making the right decision if not, you could regret it when you have your eyes on another car but can't sell yours as quickly.

I thought there was a hue of blue that was a little more sky blue (lighter color), has anyone else seen this color? I remember seeing a 355 B with a very light blue exterior w/metallic in the paint, over a very dark navy blue interior. It looks very nice and individual. Does anyone know which color I'm talking about?
