I am new to ferrari model collection but being a ferrari fan for years so have been purchasing die-casted ones: Bang, Best, Art model, minichamp etc. I also have about 20 BBRs.
I now want to get serious about this hobby so where should I start in terms of which brand is better for collecting. I know BBRs are expensive which I think I will continue but which brand is the best for die-cast ferraris.

Im guessing you referring to 1:43 based on the brands you mentioned.

There is no simple answer IMHO. I personally have a varied 1:43 collection based on which is the best example of a given model. For example... BBR makes a Challenge Stradale, but so does RedLine. I think the RedLine, though less expensive, has more accurate wheels... so I own the RedLine. However I dont like RedLine's Enzo for the same reason. See my review of the new IXO Enzo here: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=41711

There are many excellent brands worth checking out such as Art Models, AMR, BBR, Brianza, Brumm, Bosica, Heco, Herpa, Ilario, IXO, MG, Minichamps, MR, Provence Moulage, RedLine, and Technomodel to name a few. Their prices range from $20 on up well past $500 each.

My advice is to surf around the net to learn about whats available, see what you like and what fits your budget, and choose from there. Heres some links to get youn started:

    Depends.

"Vitesse"´s Dino is not as good as the "Bang"-Dino and the "Best" 308 is not as good as the "Vitesse" 308. Just judge every model on it´s own merits. Take price in consideration if you will, but manufacturer is -at least in my view- of no importance. If the model is good and the price is ok, than there´s your deal.

BBR is ok. Now you want to get into Superdetails Handbuild models. BBR quality with all features open. open doors, open bonnet, engine details. A really fine one can cost up to $3000 US. for 1/43 which I got a few in my collections. Bosica is considered to be top of the kit for superdetails but there are not many of them around. Feeling43, Le Phonix amoung them.
Check out my collections in my web below.

That's you, Jaturon. I forgot to look at the name. You should be ready to get your Ferrari out for a spin by now....
