well I finally did it and purchased my dream car,I was lucky enough to find a 1994 348ts speciale # 15 of 15 , I was told it was a limited production car made in 1994. I was surpised that only 15 were made ? Car is in mint condition production #98907 which peaple informed me as one of the last made! I find that hard to beleave but if so Lucky me!!. I have be reading the posts from other 348owners,their seems to be quite the botherhood among theses owners. I look forward to driving my 348, and sharing my experance with my fellow members.. well for now I will park my M3 and enjoy whats left of this summer in my TS ...thanks and look forward to contributing to this post..

If your SS was made in '94 it was definatly one of the last 15 or so made. Most of the SSs were '93s. The Spider came out in '94 as well, so I suppose it is possible that your car was made after some of the first Spiders.

Congratul;ations on your new baby! Enjoy here well and get us some pictures, Stat!

If I'm not mistaken they had built around 500 Spiders when 98907 rolled out of factory. Then again 98907 appears to be highest s/n for a 348 TB/TS I have ever seen. May very well have been the last one built.

Wow, its safe to assume you are familiar with 348s..While I hope not to do to much to this car (30K tune up is being done now) its good to know that there places like your site for info. This car felt a little sluggish during its test drive but I was told that 30K tune up would resolve that (new plugs, adjustment to valves ) I spoke to many techs they also beleave that to be true..I will let you know. The only performence item I might have done is replace cats with better flowing ones maybe entire exhaust?... Thanks

...for US-market that is. A handful of cars were built for European market after this s/n.

Congrats on your purchase. I drove the car a few weeks ago in my search too...I think you're getting a really good and probably significantly numbered car. Enjoy~!!!

Changing the subject slightly, I was at my local specialist on Saturday (Bob Houghton's). He's always got more exotica than most, 275 GTB's, 250's, F1 etc, anyway, over in the corner is a 348 Challenge car - yep a real challenge car - 2 pipe (not 4) and two tone, red on the bottom and white above the grates. Apparently its the only RHD car ever produced!

What a street car that would be. I asked if the car was sold, apparently it was sold for less than £30K! Off to Hong Kong with a Testarossa to some lucky owner.

I wonder what the cost of making that car street legal. All the ECU's etc were mapped. The car had an amzing history. I think the driver was D Lloyd.
