Long time lurker and I finally have a reason to post. I just brought home my 1972 365 GTC4. What a fun car. I was looking into 348's/355's but I got a great deal on this car and decided to give Ferrari ownership a try. What a different feeling from a modern day car.

I look forward to the NY community. I am located in East Northport, NY. I will have the car at Northport village alot this summer. If anyone sees an old blue Ferrari - that would be me.

I will update my profile as soon as I get the time. Its tax season and I have returns to get done.

    Regards,

    Fred

We are going to Northport tonight for dinner. My daughter is going to a birthday party in the village. She wants to take the Ferrari - she is already addicted at 8 1/2 years old.

Congrats! Nothing like owning a Ferrari. But you must tell us how many times you go out to the garage and say, "WOW, I own a Ferrari!" I still do it all the time and I have owned my 348 for 2 years.

Hey people I am back. I just finished tax season! Now it is car season. I had the 365 out for a run on Sunday to see a client. What a day. I love this car more and more each time I take it out.

If anyone sees a blue 365 that is me - I look forward to meeting the NY group. If anyone is interested I have my SCCA World Challenge car at Habberstad BMW in Huntington, NY. They pull it out every now and then. I had to evict the car so that I can keep the 365 in the garage.

My biggest question is why do Ferraris have so little miles on them. My car has averaged around 1,200 miles a year. I plan on upping that average!

    Regards,

    Fred

If anyone wants to see pictures of the car you can look under the vintage Up to 365 GTC4. Look under the Topic 365 GTC/4 and you will see pictures of my car.

The more I look at it the more I appreciate the lines. If you look at the rear quarter of the car it looks a little like the vette (C5?) only 30 years earlier.

Let me also say that I have driven lots of vintage cars from Aston Martins, Jags, Porches, Mercedes Benz's etc... This car is by far the best riding car I have ever been in. You can drive all day at 80mph, the car drives nice and straight with no shimmy and it stops as well as a modern car. Also the power steering is one of the best I have ever had even compared to modern cars. It is not too light and not too heavy just right.

Pretty amazing for a 1972 car!

In the early eighties I had the opportunity to work on the movie Flamingo Kid. Part of the movie was filmed at the Breezy Gull Beach Club (if I remember the name correctly) in the Rockaways. I helped the person who supplied all of the cars (movie took place in 1962 if I remember). We had all sorts of vintage cars from Chevy's, Fords, Jags, Mercedes Benz, Ferraris, Chryslers etc.. Every morning we would ferry the cars from a warehouse to the beach club, about 3-4 miles. Let me tell you that when you went from driving a 1957 chevy to a 1957 Gullwing Mercedes or a XK 150 it was night and day. The european cars were so far superior in driving that I never forgot it and to this day it has driven my passion for european cars. It was fun for a college kid to be driving all sorts of old cars for over a month.

I am off to a client.
