    Hello,

I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there a reason factory authorized Ferrari dealerships don't list their new Ferrari inventory on their own website?

Just left Ferrari dealer Lake Forest Sportscars in Lake Bluff, Illinois. They have a new 2013 Ferrari California on the showroom floor, window sticker and all. But nothing on their website www.LFSC.com

    Any thoughts on why?

    Thanks.

Dealers cannot advertise cars that are under 6 months old -- even trade in's.

When I was shopping for mine, a new 458 was sitting there; I asked, and learned it had been received and prepped, and was just waiting around for the new owner to pick it up. Without asking, my assumption might have been to think it was another car in the showroom for sale. Bob H

Because they generally build cars to order, rather than inventory.

I've seen this too. There was also a situation that the person who ordered the car decided not to take it and the dealership was giving those on the wait list the opportunity to look at it before making it available to the general public.

I agree with the MAyor about dearler's not being able to advertise new inventory. The Ferrari Market Newsletter, wasn't there a big deal a few yrs back, with Ferrari threatening to pull the franchise of a dealer that was advertising new inventory in the FMN? Perhaps some F-Chatters can add some light to that story.
