First, a big thanks to all the knowledgeable posters on Fchat - and in this case Taz and Gobble in particular.

Replaced the dead battery in my 360 and now only my red fob works. For the last 4 years the red fob has been in my desk and I have used only the black one.

I know Gobble can source me a new black one and reprogram off my existing red one. He might even be able to reprogram my existing black one that stopped working when I put the new car battery in (I also replaced the black fob battery twice just to see if that was not a fix).

Not being a big believer in coincidences, any idea:
    1) how I screwed up the black one?
    2) any easy fix?

Just to be clear, Gobble has the perfect affordable solution - I am mostly perplexed at how/what I hammered up.

    Thanks...F

Fred- Try all the normal remedies. Take the battery out and examine the fob contacts for corrosion. Clean if corroded. If you have any battery terminal spray, use a toothpick to put a drop on the contacts. Also squeeze the contacts together before inserting the battery to make sure they will make a good connection with the battery. After squeezing together and inserting the battery, spin the battery while holding the contacts to make a better connection. Check and make sure you did not insert the battery backwards. Press the fob button a couple of dozen times to make sure the rolling code did not get fouled up. Try three fob button depressions in less than 10 seconds to see if that will reset the Alarm ECU for that fob ID.

If none of those work, the odds are still good that Gobble can recover the contents of your fob's EEPROM and transfer the contents to a fob that will work. Much better than a clone, where you should rotate the two fobs so the rolling codes do not get too far out of sequence.
