We all know car was designed and is going to be made in Canada by MultiMatic but does anybody know that the chief designer on the program is a F-Char regular?

Keeping his name quiet so he does not get in trouble but I am a friend of his and think he should get the proper credit due!

If somebody guesses it I will confirm it.

Hint--He is in the southcentral group.

I've heard Fords building 250 cars a yr for 3 yrs

Also heard it will be a regular production car like an Audi R8

Haven't heard anything official from Ford yet so who knows

They could stretch the rear part just enough to fit a V-8 in there for the version they are flogging to the public.

This car is a marketing exercise therefore making too many undoes that good work.

I think the car is awesome and as the video a couple of posts above shows, it is doing as intended and showing and surprising some with the fact is is actually a Ford.

Well done Ford ... if I had the funds I'd be ordering one.

You might be surprised to know that not everybody has a hard on for the v8 engine ... hate the sound myself.

The engine choice was 100% Ford. Want to market the EcoBoost brand. Also they had no other engine available "then" that could make the 600+ hp required.

Production run is 4-5 years at about 250/year.

I will never understand the engine choice for this car when the company has at it's disposal a V-8, four valve, four cam motor with a flat plane crankshaft.

They are making a historic car and the promotion of an engine that is entirely capable of standing it's ground in other Fords is in my opinion a mistake.

They are marketing the future, not the past!

The v8 is history. Turbo charged efficient engines are the future.

Because that engine won't allow them to go racing effectively and puts out less power per liter and likely weighs more also, or perhaps close to the same with the plumbing for the turbo.

This engine already won 24 hours of Daytona in a prototype.

Now build a little flat-plane v8 for the turbo setup and I'm all in, but that isn't what happened - oh well.

I've heard the new engine will put out over 700HP now. That seems to be Ford's goal although it has not been made official. I think they are testing and tweaking to see the sweet spot. I have no problem with a V6 or even a V4. All I care about is how much power it puts out and the overall performance. If Ford pulls off what I am hearing they did it's all good. A 6 cylinder that is lighter and puts out more then the new 488. The best power to weight ratio of any production car. Now I just have to hope my dealer gets one so I can put one in my garage.

That 700 HP rumor went around after Car and Driver erroneously reported it. The real number will be in the mid 600s from what I hear, though I'm sure we'll be seeing well over 700 when the aftermarket gets a hold of one.

I just spoke with a large NYC Dealer. He said they are getting one and have already sold it to a "collector". He paid a $400,000 deposit and the selling price was $1,000,000.
    This is stupid!

Few things wrong with this but the main one is any dealer saying they are getting one. Not a single dealer has been notified or confirmed of allocations. It is possible they think they are getting one but right now they actually do not know.

Will some sell for 500k to 1M? I'd say possible on the 1M and probable on the over 500k+

Delivered are still OVER a year away and the order books not open.

So maybe this dealer DID get 400k deposit and sold to him for 1M but in the end if they don't actually get the car they will be writing him a refund check

you'll probably be disappointed when the HP figure is revealed, but you'll be surprised by how light the car is. Doesn't need 700+ to have a great power to weight ratio.

This was just announced at the Ford GT Rallye in Detroit last weekend. Henry Ford III and Edsel Ford II were there, and allowed the group access to the design studio.

    Cool stuff. Now the dilemma.

So a 250k GT is the price of entry? Values will continue to rise.

They should give priority to existing owners IMHO. I hope that is true.
