I understand that Lamborghini will be introducing a version of the Gallardo coupe called the Piton. 250 units to be produced worldwide, of which the US will get 90. Here is what I have heard:

    - 20 hp more, to 520 HP
    - Top of the car from A to C pillers will be black (like the G Spider front windscreen)
    - Spoiler will be black
    - Gallardo Spider rims standard
    - Pirelli Corsa track tires (although street tires can be ordered)
    - Upgraded engine (more hp), suspension (lower and tighter), gearbox (shorter ratios)
    - Darkened taillights
    - Integrated rear camera (NAV can be optioned in)
    - Stainless steel kickplates
    - Upgraded leather

Orders are being taken now for delivery in September 2005 and beyond. Will also be offered in a new color, a sort of Pearl White.

Priced about 10.5% higher than the base G coupe, putting it around $200K.

More power, but also more weight. Nonetheless, looks to be very mean.

I understand Lamborghini is also seriously contemplating a limited production run of the Concept S.

I'd love to see Lamborghini produce a stripped out lightweight Gallardo designed for the track...

Yes, I heard about this a couple of weeks ago. No G car markings at all, only PITON above the rockers. Haven't actually seen anything from the factory yet, but it should be very cool. 0-60 times are supposed to be 3.7-3.8, and top end 320km's.

I don't think that is the Piton. That looks like the aftermarket version, the Affolter Miami edition, which looks very close to the Piton.

"Cuerno" means horn in spanish, but "piton" is where the horn turns forward and the leading tip of the horn.

car is going to be 16 percent more expensive than regular Gallardo. It will have a 0-60 of 3.95 and will also have a new launch mode. I think they said 9 sec to 100 but I am at home right now and don't have the info. The whole center section of the roof and the decklid will be black on all colors. They will offer a metallic pearl white. The car will have different suspension. I will round up the rest of the details tomorrow.

I really welcome and love the G interior "from Audi". I lived 30 years with "exotics" inlcuding 8 F cars and always had to suffer the inconvenience of bad switches and dials, shoddy materials and stupid ergonomics. (and that includes my 360 where, even after 5 years, I found I still had to look and stretch out to reach something or get comfortable). When I bought a P928 and later an NSX, I realized that an exotic car does not have to be badly designed and built on the inside and I did not have to put on a stupid smile and justify it because the car had "soul" or just because there was a prancing horse on the steering wheel ! I love my Gallardo interior, it is friendly, it's made with high quality materials and fitment and is very easy to use.

Confirmed by the London dealer today. Essentially a more focussed Gallardo.

I saw the internal press pack sent to the dealers, and it looks good.

That is the computer approximation of the car. Think it was taken from that other forum.
If I remember the post correctly, the guy that saw it said it is very close but it will have smoked taillights and different wheels.

The power upgrade isn't enough IMO, but the rest sounds very good, although the black roof doesn't do it for me.
