Test drove an S today, and was VERY impressed! Fast, loud, handles great, fit and finish spectacular! Sticker was $149K I believe. Exhaust, brakes, power all stunning!!!
Yeah, I test drove one with my dad a couple months ago and the car to me felt like the first Maserati that felt like it was really worked on by Ferrari. It is a remarkable car!
Thank you. My first day of driving was sublime! Along with many others I have always thought this car was beautiful to look at, and yes the exhaust is very special. It really adds to the overall experience of driving the car. I like to evaluate a car on its own merits, before making comparisons with other cars that I have owned. Things that have impressed me so far: Design, including quality of fit and finish Shifting is fabulous, fast and seamless Exhaust, inviting both going up and down the gears Seats, firm and comfortable Handling, feels very solid with responsive steering. Suspension is not overly firm, I think a good mix for both cornering and cruising down uneven highways. Nice touches, automatic electric handbrake, rpm indicator lights and tire pressure in display. The only item that I would change is that the default for the transmission is "Automatic." Not sure if this can be reprogrammed. Invoice was: 135k 300 Dealer Prep 1750 Alcantara Headlining 750 Black Brake Calipers 2500 Black Piano Moulding (Dash) 400 Car Cover 375 Stitching (Seats) 275 Zone Steering Wheel Color 1500 Destination Charges 145,450 plus tax, license
I still have the Gransport, I just enjoy that car too much to sell it. In general, they are 2 different cars which is what I had hoped for. The size and weight differences certainly change the feel and driving style. The Gransport feels like a small, nimble sports car that can slide through corners quite nicely. I do not see myself driving the GranTurismo the same way. The GranTurismo feels very responsive and solid through higher speed turns. The GranTurismo is much more refined and very smooth. The GranTurismo shifts flawlessly in Sport Mode, compared to the somewhat harsh shifts in the Gransport. Same with the ride, whereas I feel very imperfection in the road in the Gransport, the GranTurismo suspension absorbs them much better. The exhaust sound of the GranTurismo is like the Gransport exhaust on steroids. The GranTurismo interior and various electronics are a big improvement as well. I think they are both wonderful cars that provide different driving experiences.
Must be going down the line the same time as mine. November production = delivery before Christmas. Metallic black this time around, the Granturismo 4.2 I had was silver.
Agreed about the default auto mode. Like the 612 I don't know why they programmed the car this way. The transmission is too incredible in the GT-S to drive it in auto mode. The white/black is beautiful.
Thanks for the comments. White was my choice this time around, I think this car looks great in any color. It will be a great day to finally get the car after waiting. Interesting that the 612 is programmed to start in auto mode as well. The MC-Shift is "incredible!" The car almost begs you to go fast!
I had lots of problems with my 4.2 ltr. After much complaining the dealer and the importer put together a very good deal on trading it on an "S". My 4.2ltr went about 4 months ago and the "S" is on the boat today with a bit of luck. Should be at the dealer mid December; but I will get it plated as a 2009 model, so delivery in January.
Just curious - if you care to share - what problems did you encounter with your 4.2ltr? I have had mine (2008 blu nettuno) for almost a year and have only encountered a power steering pump leak. p.s. congrats on the "S"
