This is exactly the reason my wife won't go for a McLaren with the lambo doors and don't get me started on a Huracan. The Superfast convertable may be an option though it will cost at least 50% more than Cal T or V8GT
I know it has been speculated that it started as a Maserati, but it uses aluminum construction, shares the common Ferrari aluminum suspension (at the rear, at least, probably similar at the front) and shares the engine with 458/488. So not really a Maserati, IMO.
maybe not in tech , but when it originally came out, it definitely look very Maserati like. That was "corrected" a little when the T was released but I think the T still has some Maserati dna still there. I want a GT, but I want it to be and look like a Ferrari GT.
Compared to prior regular production models, the NA Cali introduced more technological firsts which have been carried forward. First Ferrari with Folding Hardtop (458, Cali T and 488) First Ferrari with Direct Injection (the entire range of production models) First Ferrari with Dual Clutch Transmission (the entire model range) First Ferrari with V8 engine located in the front (Lusso T and Cali T) First Ferrari with touchscreen infotainment system (FF Lusso and CaliT)
I sure wish Ferrari would make a car that has 4 seats that are usable (in similar size to the maserati GT).... that could be taken to the track..... not the like the cali (too small) or the FF (not a track car)
Does anyone make a car that is built for track duty with four seats? The occasional DE or follow the leader? Or actual pushing it?
Because you want to take guests lapping or because you want one expensive car to do the job of two less expensive cars?
That way I do not have to have several weekenders. Having a couple of seats in the back would give us the opportunity to take out the car for a quick family dinner and then the occasional track day.
I'm late to this thread (directed to it by the FChat newsletter), but I'd like to see a 2-seat Cali with front mounted supercharged 3 liter V12 and gated six speed. No aero appendages, etc. just a sweet GT ride with a retractable hard top.
Cali T replacement will be 4 seats and convertible. I was told this by the head of Ferrari north Europe a few weeks ago. He was say no more even he had not seen the car at that point. When I was placing my deposit for the 812 Spyder. First bit was true, 812 Spyder deposit was just to wind Tim up LOL
Maybe someone saw the new California! Can she look like that? http://www.thesupercarblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Ferrari-GTC4Lusso-Spyder-Rendering.jpg
The other thing that will shock many people is Mclaren is a technology company 1st and a car company about 3rd or 4th
Late 90s, Ferrari track day. Husband shows up with a 550, wife has a 456. She puts the two kid car seats out in the parking lot. Was racing her husband until about 2 pm. She flies into the parking lot, throws the kids car seats back in the 456......helmet tossed into the trunk. Smiling "Time to go pick up the kids" and she was gone ........ I still laugh when I think about it.
There will be an 812 Superfast Spider/Convertible/open car coming. A V12. Not sure about VS or standard production. But the open version 812 SF will come. And has zero to do with F60/TRS etc. Marcel Massini Wow..my heart actually skipped a beat... the chance to possibly have a 12cylinder Spider to experience is beyond dreams... My F12 is a pure adrenalin rush..add that to the open air...as my license plate says, BETRNSX...
Hello, Here is what I've done: https://www.flickr.com/photos/136620090@N04/36369952241/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/136620090@N04/35290460463/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/136620090@N04/36369949071/in/dateposted-public/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/136620090@N04/35708304770/in/dateposted-public/
The rear deck (trunk) treatment you have on the 812 looks very good. The color is very dark and reminds me of blu Pozzi paint, thank you for sharing your images here!
Thanks I really hope to compare my work and the real car. For the front I think it will be "the day and the night" but for the rear maybe some parts could be the same. It took me 10 hours and if you use google image and take the red California, it show you... a Blu Pozzi California T (this is the reason I choose this color for the rear )
We will all know soon enough. Flatteringly I've been invited to the Private Client Gala launch on the 7th at Portofino, Anyone else going on the 7th. I believe Ferrari have virtually taken over the Quay just below our apartment. My bet is 4 tail lights, Lusso-ish front end, more of a useable 2+2, lower, wider and more aggressive with the 488 power pack. I hope so because my deposit is in on a GS with Ciouo.
