I'm the new owner of a '75 308 GT4, 11174. This is my first Ferrari and first vintage car. I couldn't be more excited. I love everything about it including its controversial past. It sounds and smells like a race track (I admit it's running a bit rich), but rides like touring car.

Among other things, it could use a fresh coat of paint and some body work. However, the interior and engine seems to be in good shape. The pre-sale inspection revealed that the compression is dead even across all 8 cylinders. This was a relief since there is obvious evidence of some aggressive heal/ toe action.

First things first - safety. Fixed the right turn blinker (just a bulb change). Changed the oil. Swapped out the brake pads (thanks Dom and Birdman - you're not kidding about those rear pads).

Anyway, more projects to come, but in the meantime here are a few pics.

Welcome to the club JDubs! You'll find the GT4 is one of the best kept secrets in driving Nirvana.

It's a beautiful car. I love the red/black Boxer scheme.

Drive and enjoy it in good health...and don't be a stranger on F-chat, because anything you need to do has been done before by someone else here.

Congratulations. they get under your skin, just drive it lots.

But, firstly: update the info here:http://www.dino-gt4-registry.com/Reg-1975.htm#11174 :)
And then change all your fuel hoses (all of them, lots of hidden bits on the US cars). You will hear this advice frequently :) The good news is that this is easy enough to do yourself.
Don't worry too much about the paint, if it is too good you will resist driving which is far worse loss than a few chips.

Great purchase. I love my GT4.

In the UK GT4 prices are rising (Chris Rea races one), but that is irrelevant, they are such lovely cars to drive, great dashboard, seats, grunt.

    Hi,

rosso corsa or giallo are not the colours which meets the lines of the car best. I prefer a dark blue ( photo following in a later post ) or even black.
A paint in two different colour is a no go in EUROPE, I guess. Beside this - I like the dashboard of the GT4 very much.

    Best regards

    Udo

I've owned my car 24 years now, and still think it is just incredible! Congratulations. I've raved about my GT4 in other threads after going for a drive. The fellow f-chatters are tolerant and enthusiastic for such things thankfully. Enjoy your bella machina!!!

All it takes is to let another non-GT4 F-car owner drive your GT4 for five minutes on a winding road and you'll make an immediate convert who will be happy to join in praising them for being amazingly versitile and astonighingly fun cars.
