Hi there, nice site you have here. I've been a long time lurker, just now starting to get serious about getting a 360. My background has been mostly Porsches and Alfas, more Alfa than Porsche. I race a roundtail spider in the vintage scene, and have a long-running build thread for the race car on another site. But a Ferrari has always been the dream.

Before I go beyond dreaming, I need to make sure I can fit one in my garage. I am very limited for space. As in a single car garage with a storage lift and a relatively low ceiling. Currently, my 87 Carrera in the top position on the lift will barely clear the rafters because of the whale tail and it's proximity to the slope of the roof. If I get a 360, it will need to go in the top position. If the rear deck height on the 360 is any higher than that whale tail, then it won't fit.

I can't find the measurement for the rear deck height on the Internet, and the usual dealers around me do not have any 360s for me to measure. Soooo, would someone out there mind taking a tape measure from the ground to the height of the rear deck of their 360? Help me keep the dream alive.

If this picture uploads properly, you'll see what I'm working with. There's only about three or 4 inches between the rafters and the tip of that spoiler. Yes, I'm aware of that if I do get a 360, then it may qualify to be the nicest car in the ugliest garage. Priorities!

About 38 inches on a spider.

Mine looks like about 37 inches max, but being a coupe it slopes up from there. A Spider would probably stay level at that for a few feet.

Ooooh, this is good news. The tip of the Porsche spoiler is 36" off the ground. 37-38" for a 360 is close enough. I could always deflate the tires to get another inch. Just kidding (or not). The slope of the garage roof allows plenty of space for the car's cabin height, so no worries there.

I won't bore you all with the details, but I went through nine layers of he11 to get every last inch of ceiling space in that wretched garage. All in preparation for my dream car. I'm almost there. All I have to do now is find the right car...

You could always lower the 360 to euro height specs and gain an additional 10mm of clearance...

Mine is a Euro, I don't know if that is what the height difference is between me and 9650max.

non-factory spec wheel/tire sizes will also impact the overall height of the vehicle. It can raise or lower the car +/- 0.5"

suggestion: find someone in the Seattle area to drive their car over. post your request in the "Northwest" section of FChat.

A little trickier but I guess you could always back it in as the nose is much lower.

Reminds me of the guy who was trying to get his truck under a low bridge. A bystander recommended letting air out of the tires to which the drive replied 'you think I'm stupid or something -- it's the roof that won't fit not the tires'. :)

Thanks for that picture, Chris. Why does your 10-year-old paint looks so good? ;)

It's just NOT right to have to use the visor mirror, side mirrors, or rear view mirror to check if there is something in your teeth...
