I am seriously thinking about buying a Ferrari and have been taking a spin through the Ferrarichat forums. My first question is does anyone drive these cars without worrying about somebody defacing their pride and joy? I’ve owned a few Porsche’s in the past and never really worried about getting keyed or being slammed in the door by someone pissed off about someone owning a car they don’t own. Is this an actual problem? I was hoping to buy a Ferrari and use it as my non-work transportation, is this a bad idea? Thanks in advance, Ernie.

Be more specific about what constitutes "non-work transportation", and what year and model you may be considering.

No, be very ready for vandalism.

My car has been attacked maybe four or five times, from light lenses smashed out, to panels caved in from "photo sessions", to one particularly nasty person loose with acid from the Hospital lab, poured down my cracked open window on a hot summer day...

    ^&%*&^%%$ those ass wipes.....:D :D
But haters are very real and part of the game these days.

It depends somewhat on where you live and where you'll be parking it.

If you update your user profile on this website, then people will have a sense of where you live.

I breed race horses and drive a pickup most of the time, something to drive for everything else. Thinking of late model 360 gated?

I think you click on the your name on the top right of the web page.
Go to your "Personal Details" choice.
See if it allows you to update the info there.

My Ferrari hates traffic and parking lots ;)
If you are parking in a parking lot, you can just park it and hope for the best :(
Or away from everything, but park between the lines, everybody hates people who take up two spaces.

I took my 430 to the food store yesterday, I've taken it to the paint store, and other places without issue. I would probably not drive it into Philadelphia but that has more to do with the condition of the roads. I don't ever give it (or most of my cars for that matter) to a valet (I've had issues in the past with doing that), and it does not hold much (especially if you have a passenger), which can be an issue. I bought a gearshift 2010 Mini Cooper S wholesale for 6K, that is normally the go to the store car when my summer cars are out and the winters are in storage. I live very close to Algar Ferrari and the sight of a Ferrari is not uncommon, a Lamborghini, Evora 400 or 4C draws a lot more attention, and Porsche's are more common around here than Corvette's. I don't know what it is like in Kentucky, but I'm sure like everywhere most of the people are decent. I guess I look at it this way if I could not have something I wanted because of where I lived, I'd move! Good luck.
