    Hey guys,

I am new here to the forum and I wanted to say hi to all you lucky Ferrari owners out there. I personally have yet to purchase one but my Father has a few. I will post them the next time I stop by his house for you guys, it is something beautiful.
I am going on a tour of the UTI campus in Los Angeles, CA. tomorrow as I am looking into becoming a technician for Ferrari. But, seeing as they do not offer a program specializing in Ferrari I am forced to further the education elsewhere. Thus where I hit my problem.
I have spoken to MANY Ferrari dealerships in the US and have tried to find out where I can go after UTI so that I can learn and work on the these beautiful automobiles. I want to know if there are any current/past mechanics in here that could be so kind as to offer their hand and help me with my dream. Whats school(s) are available for Ferrari Technicians?
Again, I apologize if this was a question that has been asked again and again but I could not find it. Thanks again and I look forward to talking on here in the future.

hate to say it, but if you become a ferrari mechanic, you probably won't be able to afford one for a long time.

If you run your own business, you can do very well buying/selling, restoring, maintaining, etc.

I know several Ferrari dealers with 328s. Not sure they could swing an Enzo, but they're not exactly on food stamps.

You wouldnt happen to know of any Ferrari Dealer/Shop(s) in the Los Angeles area that may need a an extra hand cleaning cars or picking up parts, would ya? I would love to get some experience with these cars while attending school so that I have an idea on how they work, etc. Whether it be cleaning them, fixing them, anything that will teach me something about them if you catch my drift. Thanks in advance.

I'm in San Diego, so I'm more familiar with the shops down here. Maybe post in the southern California forum and see what the LA guys say. PM me if you want contacts in San Diego.

    Good luck with it!

start yourself a detailing business specialising in exotic cars. this will establish a customer base to tap into once you start doing repair work. all you need is flyers and business cards. use top best detailing supplies and go to the customer. do a good job, make your clients happy and they''l be your friend for life. don't limit yourself to just ferraris. learn to repair as many marques as you can. or you could specialise in just one system. an a/c tech is like a god. someone who can do all the software/hardware diagnosie on these new jobs is akin to a necromanser. you'll always do better working for yourself than someone else.

From what I have been told, it is a LOT harder if you don't know someone in the position. I'm lucky I do, so when I get out of the military as a Aircraft Equipment Technician I can have the opportunity waiting for me.

Good luck with your venture. You get what you put in, and don't ever give up your dream.

Thanks again guys. Bullfighter, I will definately let you know if I need a connection in San Diego. Unfortunately the campus is in Rancho Cucamonga, CA and that is quite a distance from even the San Diego subburbs.
I visited the campus today and it is amazing. The first time I visited I didnt get to see the entire school. I was amazed to hear that they were installing both a transmission dynometer AND an engine dynometer. The place is spotless and there is no car over the age of 3 years inside to work on. I think the tuition of 25.5k will be well worth it. I can actually earn my ASE Master Technician liscense while enrolled. The best part is that I get 50% OFF Snap-On tools. Needless to say I am excited. Thanks again to all who inquired. I will post in the Southern CA forum to see if there is anyone out there who would like to help an aspiring tech.

hey....saw this post and had to reply. i just want to let u know that it is a little difficult to get into a dealer position without any expierence. It took me 5 years to get into a dealer. It was always my goal to work for ferrari but up until 2 years ago there were none in new jersey and then it took a little bit of good luck to get in. I dont want to discourage u in anyway go for your goals. The main problem is that there are only 33 dealerships in the country and in total there are less than 200 authorized ferrari techs.
