    Just got a letter from Jesse announcing the arrival of newly designed Antique Vehicle plates. Yahoo! As much as I like the benefits of AV plates, they really looked, ahem antique.

    So where are the pics.? Did Jesse send any?

    Never liked the AV plates myself, that's why I don't use them.

    But remember, if you do have AV plates, you can only drive your vehicle to and from shows/events!! ;)

    That's the only driving I do, to and from "sanctioned" events, yep, that's the ticket!!!

    They are light brown with the outline of the state in white as the background. Much nicer than the standard Illinois plates.

    Actually it helps when you're the president of the club. Just make up an event if somebody ever asks...

    I run AV plates. Agree on comments on visual appeal, or lack thereof, of the old plate. In 2 years I have never run into an issue running the car on the street. Has anyone?

    When I ordered AV plates a couple months ago, the clerk at the Secretary of State's office said "they" were "cracking down" on AV plates, but I don't know what that means.

    Might have something to do with all that fraud some of those Cobra replica guys committed in Calif. Basically had brand new replicars and titled them as sixties originals with AV plates. Was a big blow about a year ago.
