GOD, when will it end? I'll tell you, a small part of the reason I went and bought a XJR is because the company had no poseur SUVs. It's sad to see that they might replace the X-type with this POS even though the X-type is a pretty big POS.
Please don't build it! Tell Jaguar not to build it at [email protected] Is Maserati going to make that Kubang suv?
A few years ago, Jaguar wanted to expand and compete with bigger car makes like BMW so they made the X-Type and it has been lame. Jaguar needs to stick with what works except move the styling forward The new XJ's styling may not move it forward enough, but it still looks nice. http://www.robbreport.com/Articles/Wheels/2004-Articles/Special-Themes/Car-of-the-Year-2004/asset_upload_file817_7449.jpg http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/jk/images/04jagxjbody.jpg check out the XJR video under "gallery" http://www.keycast.com/keycast/jaguar/xj/USNewXJ_LWB/default.asp?ref=noref&detect=1&flashversion=7&jsenabled=1 The next Jaguar XK8 will use the new XJ's aluminum chassis. The Jaguar Advanced Lightweight Coupe was shown at this year's Detroit auto show. It shows what the next XK8 might look like. The next XK8 will have to comply with new European pedestrian safety regulations. That Jaguar coupe looks similar to new Aston Martins, but one thing I notice from pics is that the tail tapers off like the current XK8. New Astons have a "flat" trunk with a crease around them. here is the link to the pictures of that Jaguar concept http://www.fast-autos.net/features/05naias/jaguar/index.html
