    Good morning,

This past weekend I was in Hackensack getting onto RT 4 W when I came to the usual intersection, slowed to 1-2mph; let the car crawl through the stop sign. BLAM! I found myself with 3-4 other cars pulled over and being written a ticket for "Failure to stop". Now I must go to court and fight this infraction which states 2 DMV points and 2 insurance points.

Admittedly, it was my fault as I did not come to a Driver's Education full stop five feet behind the painted white line.

I passed by later on, three hours, 3-4 cars pulled over with the same two officers issuing citations. These gentlemen sat there all day.

Be careful in New Jersey; they're getting serious. Anyone notice the parkway clouded with unmarked cars? 4 pullovers from 145-->161.

Typical end of month ticket-a-thon......hit the quotas I guess. Fight it and I would bet you pay a fee but the points get eliminated....they want the dough....I would also guess there is a general lack of interest on the town/county padding the insurance companies pockets with additional premiums due to points. Good luck.....

I agree with what was said above. Speak to the prosecutor before hand and tell him about the situation and ask him if you could plead down to a lesser infraction that involves no points. It usually costs you more in the wallet to lose the points, but that's what they want.

As for unmarked units, the NJStatePolice have MANY unmarked units in all shades of color. They use both unmarked Crown Vics and Durango's. So be on the lookout.

    Good luck with your ticket.

I have been through this before, unfortunately. I just hate how I know the judge is going to attempt to make me look like a fool and then make me pay a ridiculous fine.

Thank you for the good luck!

Don't forget the unmarked Chargers too, how many times have I seen them pulling someone over.
