Hi, I am looking to replace my suspension and have read quite a bit from the threads on this subject. I must say that the forum is really helpful for newbies like me.

I like to double check my findings before taking any action. Hope you guys can help :

My car is an 85 308 QV and I mainly use it for street driving. The current suspension is a mod done by the previous owner and the ride height is quite low with ground clearance of only 95mm. This is quite a problem for driving around in Hong Kong where most parking lots are above or below ground with huge speed bumps and angled ramps. The bushings seem a bit aged and I like to take the opportunity to replace the entire system. So far, all sources seem to point towards the QA-1 mod. I am convinced and here's what I think I will need :

    1. Shocks and spring - Front: HAL-DR4855P Single Adjustable 14” max height, Poly bushing, Spring - 10" 300, Rear: HAL-DR5855P Single Adjustable 17” max height, Poly bushing, Spring - 12" 250 ( any recommended online store ? )
    2. Adapter bushing kit and "paper weight" by Verell ( wonder if they are still available )
    2. 3. Do I need a set of bump stops ?

Pls tell me if I have missed any components.

Also, is there a quick fix to the issue ? Say, adding a 20mm spacer to the spring, theoretically increasing the ride height by 20mm ?

    Thanks

Just like mine, save crema, RHD and no inverted wing.I will only go with Ohlins shocks, ala Mke,$700 ea but quality is for a lifetime. I also regret that I didnt get some of Nicks or Carpenters chromemoly tube Aarms, there was a set on ebay a while back. Now ,I think the way to go is challenge 18 mags and make up some xtended length arms so there are no wheel spacers.I would use rocker upper rear arms and mount the shocks over the rear exhaust headers. There has been a number of Challenge carbon brakes sets in the $10k range.Gonna jump right on it after I finish up my ITB project.

    sorry dude . . www.suspension.com . ..

I bought my shocks from SummitRacing.com and I heard they have the thrust bearings and washers but I just got them from a timken bearing house.

Springs I bought from a local race guy . . I went 375/325 and run my qa1's @10 on front . . 6 on back . . .about identical to my wife's boxer (edit: I meant Boxster!!!! . . with stock suspension :)) . . I'd prefer harder to be honest . . everyone has there own perspective on what "hard" is though :)

    cheers
