Barry, That's a multifunctional tool you show in your picture. I have seen it used to pass sound tech at Laguna Seca raceway Image Unavailable, Please Login

FBB, my first car was an MGB. The exhaust pipes under the car would rust through very easily. I was always patching them with soda cans and hose clamps. It got to be where when the car was on a lift, all you saw was Coca-Cola, Seven-Up and Mountain Dew! That MGB had the best immobilizer ever. When I parked the car, I took the distributor rotor with me.
So it is! $46 for a '67 T-bird tank on eBay. It should be listed in the F355 Cross-Reference/Interchangeable Parts thread... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I cant remember what we used to use, there were so may of those cans back then with all kinds of juice I should have had a V8 LOL
Well, since we are on the subject... 98 355 6 speed which I drove all last year in the good weather without problems, 6000 miles: now with 30k miles. I do not have the PIN, came with a fob and Gobble cloned a spare for me, got a blank key Ricambi and they work. Now I have been having problems with fob talking to the ECU. I noticed it was taking longer than usual, more button pressing to get the immobilzer to chirp. I went to work and stopped for coffee and got stranded the other day when I could not get the ECU to chirp. Sat there pressing the button for several minutes without response and the cloned fob didnt work either. I got a ride into work and came back in the afternoon and after sitting there for a couple minutes, it finally chirped and the car started. Now I'm not confident enough it drive it . Does that sound like rolling codes taking their time or is it the ECU?
Those who use cloned FOBs can comment on the rolling code issue but this is why I said above that having a correctly functioning alarm ECU with known and verified PIN is valuable and should be checked and verified by owners, sellers and buyers. I would consider taking the necessary steps to get a verified PIN and a set of FOBs to match.
OK I remember now We used old Maxwell House Coffee Cans because they were heavier then the stock ones
I had a clone made by Gobble. Didn't work great in the beginning: the old fob would work consistently but it would take many presses to get the new clone to work. Now the old fob can't seem to catch a rolling code despite pressing the button hundreds of times. Gobble's clone works fine, just like the original used to. Any suggestions to get the old fob to work. I figure once it does, I will keep them on the same key ring and alternate.
