Happy Holidays. I own a 97 F355 Spider, TDF blue with tan. The leather on the seats is in awful condition with the stitching worn out (probably from a previous owner using a brush to clean the seats) and also the padding is a bit flattened. I wanted to buy new leather for the seats. couple of questions: 1. Where is a good place to get leather seats -- should I get factory leather or is there a good provider of such leather. 2. Would this require professional installation or could it be done myself. Thanks!
I had that done on my 328 a few months back. To do it right, you'll probably want to redo all the beige leather at the same time. Not sure where you would go in Seattle, so maybe post in that section. In San Diego, I used Symbolic Motors in Sorrento Valley. They do some very high end restoration work, including some of Nic Cage's cars. Here's the thread on that: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=167130
Thanks. Will find a local upholsterer... I am actually in Greenwich, CT. Just updated my profile to reflect that....
I have the same car and did that to mine last year. $3500 complete with new foam. You can not do this yourself. Here is the link to the thread with pics of my leather. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=142621&page=2
Yes, John Dutton aka "the mad stitcher". He is in Chamblee Georgia, which is right outside of Atlanta. He does all the work around here for Ferrari of Atlanta. I just dropped off my seats and two weeks later they were perfect.
