New Look for my 599....

So a while ago I purchased a set of HRE 101's from a fellow F chatter... for a very reasonable price. I like them because they are kind of GTO like wheels, with out the huge expense.

what i did not like is the color - they had a chrome bezel on the barrel and it just looked to .... um boy racery...

So I had them taken apart, and powder coated. I also made my own wheel centers for the HRE's ... as no Ferrari centers would fit. It took almost 2 months, but I really like the result... thoughts?

I made my own! pretty simple.... all bought on Ebay for less than $100

I searched for HRE wheel centers - and found some black ones for like $40. Then searched for round Ferrari logo wheel centers... that were the right size - in my case 65mm (I think ) so when I got them all I used emblem tape cut to size to affix the logo centers onto the wheel cap... Voila... the nice thing is they are so cheap, ( but nice ) that I bought extras incase I need to replace them. when they are on the wheels they look great... and they are metal vs. plastic like the OEM and get scratched or shattered.

 

wow love them... whish I would have known! the prices look really good too.

 

They are 20 MM. They came with the car. Its an aftermarket HGTE pkg. the rear anti-roll bar is super thick...and a work of art - too bad you cant really ever see it.

 

I'm not planning on painting them... I don't want to remove them etc... Yellow would look great but it's not worth the hassle to me.

Not at all. I debated on the color of going to the same Ferrari silver as on the Challenge wheels or going with the gun metal gray metallic ... I got the paint code for Ferrari uses on its new wheels that is about the same color... and decided to go that route. the pictures make them look grayer, than in person... I like how it yellow of the wheels centers is set off by the satin gun metal...
