Thanks, there is a yellow one in the Pittsburgh area too, I like the look of that one. I am letting dealers know of my interest since the pricing is still not where I want it. I bought Geely stock (100,000 shares) when it was below 30 cents and (bought more as it went up a bit) and still have it. I am not sure what their plans are for lotus but my guess is that they not see this market as viable for a sports car, they already have Volvo and do not really need a Lotus SUV at least not in the U.S..

Ownership update: Ive had my car since February now and still love it. I have 3300 miles on it now and have only had two issues: 1, the powdercoat on one wheel bubbled up in one tiny spot. Replaced with a new wheel under warranty. 2, TPMS sensor went out on same wheel about a week ago. Also replaced under warranty. Both minor issues and No big deal. Everything else has been great and ive been mostly daily driving it! I can't really think of anything on it i'd change!

There are quite a few 2014 brand new S's out there (I think I may be able to get one for 50K), I am thinking of going that route and then taking it apart and see what I can make of it. Can easily get past the 400 mark power wise going to drive both the S and the 400 today.

As with anything Lotus, patience is your friend. If you wait long enough you'll be able to find a 400 at a decent price.

I went to look at them yesterday, the 400 wins by a long shot. Dealer has more 400's than they could sell in three years. They are all sitting on chargers in the back area of there jeep franchise. Kind of sad to see them all just sitting there. I gave them my info and my offer. I think it might take a couple months but my phone will ring.

Lotus finally gets another well-reviewed car & they get new owners. Now the threat of major changes is hovering over the company. I wonder if this has paralyzed sales in the US?

From what I understand they have no support from the factory, no ad dollars and the dealer I went to had only one sales person who even knew how the start the cars. They have an answering machine when you call the Lotus phone number. You cannot even see the cars unless you ask. Lotus has never been easy to sell but when I saw this I knew it was over,. For Lotus to ever succeed in the U.S. they would need to rebuild an entire dealer network, that is not going to happen. I know I am right Lotus will be gone from this country by year end. I offered 4 dealers 40K of sticker (I will still be loosing money) and I can wait till they are ever more desperate than they are now. I am pretty crazy when it comes to cars but even I am not crazy enough to pay anywhere near sticker for one of these cars. Might take a couple months but my phone will ring probably come winter.

If anyone is looking for a 400 (I mean ready to buy not have a look) I think I can make a very good deal on multiple cars. PM me if you would like to talk about it.

I still think my daily Evora 400 is very awesome. The steering feel is better than the 458 that I just acquired. The brakes is on par and gives more confidence as well. However, tiny problem here and there does pop up sometimes. The seat also is great but the quality of interior is not on par with its sale price.

I am attempting to make a multiple car deal at a significant discount. The dealer has 7 cars, so they are very motivated.

I have a 4C as well so compared to that the interior is pretty amazing!

Carnut, how about a group picture of your stable? Sounds like a very cool group of cars!

LOL, I would need a group of people to help me get them all in one place. I have them in 4 different garage locations. I drove the i8 this morning going home for lunch and to jump in the pool (it is hot a sticky here), then take the 911 back to the office. I now look for cars that do not appeal to most people, like the 400 (I would agree that steering feel is amazing), and the 4C & i8. Then I do my thing to them (I just cant stop myself), my girlfriend tells me your not a Carnut, your just nuts. Yeah but she likes the 718 Cayman S I bought for her, so I think she is starting to come around.

Well they keep sending cars to these dealers whether they want them or not (dealer I am working with now has 10). They cannot move the cars they have already built I know of at least two dealers who still have 2014 brand new cars. Going even more up market (new GT3 is around that price), just shows me they have no clue what they are doing, and when Geely realizes that it is Goodnight Irene. There are a lot of reasons I do what I do whether it is cars, watches, or clothes. this is not the place to explain them, but I've certainly had more than my share of amazing cars. Going to the Tesla dealer later to today (with a friend who wants one), this should be fun.

150K is crazy. But then they are making all the body panels out of CF to get the weight down of an otherwise too heavy platform. The price would explain why they are only making 60.

Lotus and business sense? I went to the factory in 07. An amazing place, a british maranello. There is a row of trees down the main complex each one from a different country where lotus won a race, planted by Hazel Chapman. There is the whole catalog of winnign f1 cars, they had no clue about the marketing pull they had. Lotus has race catlog BS second only to ferrari and has used it 0% to leverage their brand.

It was company run by engineers who had no idea about marketing or the Us market.

I heard that most of the evoras sent to the usa were auto tranny. Now I dont know anybody who is interested in a lotus who would also want an auto tranny. Its a drivers car.

Right now the few remaining people at the factory are despondant, a lot of the core talent has left, and they seem rudderless.

Perhaos the last unsullied authentic auto brand left. Such wonderful things coudl be done with it, while avoiding the crass schlokiness and tackyness that is ferrari.

Still if you want an engaging car to drive on road, and one capable on track out the box, its either a lotus or a Gt3, and the lotus is 50% of the proche price for better on road tactile feel and 95% of the track performance.

its really a cAr for those in the know, which is where BMw started its growth.

i dont think auto box per se is hurting evora 400 so much. more that its a conventional slushbox torque converter box. it really needed a dct along with 3 pedal choice. despite reports that modern slushbox is as good as dct, they are night and day

The car I have my eye on is a manual Tranny, no LSD in the Auto. Just a matter of time now, I am 95% certain they will be gone from the U.S. What I am not sure is whether they pull the plug completely and try and bring what Lotus's people know in the rest of the Geely/Proton group. As a car lover I would keep it alive as a business person, I'd shut it down.

Why hasn't Geely made ANY statement about their intentions for Lotus in the US. Dealers must be pulling their hair out.

Trust me that are, I just spoke with the dealer I am working with. They told me people are calling offering crazy prices for their cars.
