Got the new one today, great machine, super fast. recommended if anyone is on the fence.
This is the Thunderbolt i7 machine, right? Played around with a 15" MBP at BB today but I'm not sure it was the newest one. RMX
Kind of an interesting device. Caveat to those wanting to use Thunderbolt for external disc I/O: you are going to need a next-gen SSD to use even half of Thunderbolt's xfer speed. 80-110MB/s using spindle drives (still waaay better than USB 2). Micron's upcoming C400 can push out 410 MB/s sequential reads, so @ 375 MB/s xfers to (very fast) external disc array. Find out the specs of their optional SSD before ordering one...might be a better option to use the base 5400 RPM drive until Micron releases their C400 next month. Also, does this use Intel's Quicksync for video transcoding?
The company making this needs to learn how to apply thermal joint compound. It's not supposed to be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/xjEFKC4TRB6NEiqS.huge
Matte screen? I need a new laptop, and it's either this + SSD or whatever Lenovo's SB refresh looks like.
Macbook Pro is amazing experience of portable computers as compare to i7 any machine and Macbook Pro.
